Big opportunities for Zane Kirchner and Ryan Kankowski to lay down a marker for the Tri-Nations. Kirchner is a class 15, and picks a line beautifully from full back, but he is prone to costly errors (Chiefs' first try in the S14). Compared to Steyn, everything he does is positive, with an eye towards opening people up, and not kicking and chasing. Spies was disappointing, but Kankowski is like his twin brother.
The centres are more like what the first and seond test should have look like. Good for the home crowd to see one of their own, but listening to the Springbok commentary during the S14, it seemed a certainty Olivier would be selected for the Boks.

Another MASSIVE pack

Their strength in depth in the pack is just ridiculous. I know it's not the strongest Lions team but we should still target Ndungane and Nokwe...awful players defensively and in Ndunganes case just awful in general.I guarantee he'll drop at least 2 easy passes

Habana rested.

Looks like they're already looking towards the 3N, but by giving fringe players an opportunity to really stake a claim. This is a huge chance for Morne Steyn, Broussow and Kankowski to claim the jersey.

Is Jean de Villiers injured?

Their centre partnership actually looks stronger than the partnership for the 1st and 2nd test IMO!!!!

Of course it does. Not having Adi Jacobs in the team tends to have that effect.
