Leinster v Munster URC Semi Final Aviva Stadium Sat 13th 5.30pm
A derby knockout semi to warmup for the big one.
Interesting to see how we approach this one. I don't see a 100% full side being chosen with a mix and match of today's team and guys who'll start in the European Cup Final.
Depending on the fitness of Henshaw, Kelleher & Lowe, I'd go -
Porter, Kelleher, Mike, Molony, Jenkins, Baird, VDF, Conan, JGP, Byrne, Lowe, Henshaw, Ringer, Larmour, JOB
McKee, Healy, Furlong, Ryan, Penny, McGrath, Harry, Ngatai
Munster lost POM to an early injury and looks unlikely he'll be available. Snyman, Murray, Nash & Fekitoa all went off with HIAs but all could make it.

Can a player who has failed a HIA play a week later?
Re: Leinster v Munster URC Semi Final Aviva Stadium Sat 13th 5.30pm
Yes if they pass the protocols.mildlyinterested wrote: ↑May 6th, 2023, 9:32 pm Can a player who has failed a HIA play a week later?

Fekitoa, Murray, Snyman and Nash all off with head injuries and POM with a bad arm injury, Munster will struggle to field a team.

Should be a big Munster crowd there with tickets probably going on public sale which will be a nice little extra earner for us.

Yes, if they pass each stage of the process then it is complete in 5 days for professional players (21 days I think for Amateurs) - if you fail any stage though, the clock resetsmildlyinterested wrote: ↑May 6th, 2023, 9:32 pm Can a player who has failed a HIA play a week later?

The most likely to be rested next week are Keenan 160 mins in last 2 weeks, Sheehan 125 mins, Furlong 100, Doris 147, and Conan 109. The only others to play 100 mins in last 2 weeks are Larmour 134, Ngatai 110, Frawley 107 and Jenkins 107.
Would go Job, Dk, Rh, Lt, Jl, Hb, LMcg, Mm, Rk, Ma, Rm, JMcc, Rb, Md, Sp if all were fit with a strong bench to play last c. 20 mins of JMck, Ap, Ch, Jr, Jvdf, Jgp, Rb, Gr.

Not sure, but its a gig in the Aviva and in the end the IRFU will get something juicy.the spoofer wrote: ↑May 6th, 2023, 10:09 pmThink this is a URC gig and we don’t get the gate.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

That's Snyman's second failed HIA in three weeks. He won't be allowed to play next week

I think they had said it would be a 25k max for the semi (assume lower and premium tiers)wixfjord wrote:Should be a big Munster crowd there with tickets probably going on public sale which will be a nice little extra earner for us.
They might change their minds now though I am always in favour of having a bit of scarcity to encourage season ticket sales

I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Are you 100% sure? From what I read in the guardian and from the law book it seemed that in the updated guidance it is 10 days before they can return to play.Dave Cahill wrote: ↑May 6th, 2023, 9:37 pmYes, if they pass each stage of the process then it is complete in 5 days for professional players (21 days I think for Amateurs) - if you fail any stage though, the clock resetsmildlyinterested wrote: ↑May 6th, 2023, 9:32 pm Can a player who has failed a HIA play a week later?

This match is a massive banana skin. A fired up Munster with a "nothing to lose" mind frame are a dangerous proposition.

My thoughts exactly
Re: Leinster v Munster URC Semi Final Aviva Stadium Sat 13th 5.30pm
Fascinating to see how Leo et al decide to rotate for this.
I don't remotely think that a derby knockout is 'great preparation' for La Rochelle, who will have basically a week off next week.
However we have quite a few guys who need game time if they're to play in two weeks and quite a few starters who didn't play yesterday.
Particularly for the forwards, do they decide to save the Euro starters on the bench or start them and then take them off with the game in the mix?

One area we'll have a big advantage over Munster if any or all of those HIA walking wounded are out is on the bench.
If Barron is out, could be looking at Wycherly, Buckley and Salanoa coming in.
If Murray is out, could be looking at Neil Cronin deputising for Casey.
If Nash or Fekitoa is out, could be looking at Scannell/Joey and Zebo as the backs on the bench.

Players who are under an 'advanced level of care' (professional players essentially) have an accelerated process available to themObservingprop123 wrote: ↑May 7th, 2023, 9:18 amAre you 100% sure? Generally, provinces are very, very careful about repeated concussions. We've stood down a few players in recent times for eg.
Snyman has now failed two HIAs in three weeks.
Fascinating to see if Munster roll the dice on his health this weekend or make the prudent decision.
