Heineken Champions Cup Final 2023

Post by D4surfer »

I just received an email saying that Leinster have 2,800 tickets for the final. They are being allocated by lottery. I followed the instructions but there is no option to enter the lottery.

It eventually appeared and worked. I've entered for 2 as I have 2 season tickets.

One year later, we’re back.
Marseille was sh1t but this year it’s in our backyard.
We have to win. I believe that we have the talent and just need to make sure we’re mentally there on the day.
Three weeks to go, lets do this

Leo mentioned in post match comments there that the team got a lift when they saw the 'sea of blue' around Sandymount hotel.

I wonder could the LRSC organise some sort of march to the stadium for the final and to clap them into the stadium?

Remember in Twickers in 2012 that happened and really added to atmosphere.

That was to be done last year and the LaR fans blocked off a roundabout so the Leinster team bus had to be diverted away from the Leinster fans.

Is there a timeframe for Lowe and Henshaw's return? Henshaw's injury didn't sound long term, but since Lowe was in a boot in the last two weeks, you'd imagine that was a more long-term thing.

Judging by instagram, Lowe isn’t currently in a boot so hopefully there’s a chance he’ll be available. Am no physio though so that could be utterly meaningless.

Given there's another three weeks, you'd hope he'll be ready. Similarly, Kelleher. He was photographed training during the week.

So, its La Rochelle again.

Little known fact; La Rochelle is French for “The Rochelle”.

Yep game over at half time.
Exeter very poor, I thought they might give a better account of themselves.

We've no chance against that lot.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!

HT: 26-7. Exeter are dead in the water. King Canute springs to mind....

We certainly can't play their game and hope to be successful. However, that's easier said than done. They have taped up three boots already and we'll need a strong Ref to stop that nonsense of breaking up the continuity. They play on the edge at every breakdown and our pack must be totally alert and ruthless.

Aldritt, Skelton, their front-row are all powerful and smart. We must generate pace at every opportunity and avoid kicking to Dulin. The rehearsal was last year and other than Hastoy, they've nothing new, but they're hugely effective.

Analyse the hell out of Toulouse v LAR. Toulouse beat them consistently, so let's not be too proud to copy how they do it.

Exeter started very brightly and are doing ok in the maul (bar one) and scrum but their tactic of using one-out carriers over and over plays right into LaR’s hands. They just wait for an Exeter player to get isolated and pounce. Exeter really lacking a strong kicking game too. As the half went on they were playing more and more in the wrong parts of the field

La Rochelle have 2 away fixtures against Toulon and Montpellier over the next 2 weekends. Tough fixtures just like Leinster's will be.

Ultan Dillane having a very effective game here for LR. Great to see him enjoying his rugby. He is only 29.

LR have an incredible pack. Their scrum is frightening.
