Nope. Only for blood or HIA. Hence bloodgate.Laighin Break wrote: ↑March 4th, 2023, 6:45 pmBut if it's for an injury, can't you bring a player back on?

Harry Byrne looks crocked

That was a very enjoyable match and a really good performance against a team that was well for up for it. Great to see young lads getting a good run

Might I suggest, that Penny landing so heavily on his elbow wouldn't have resulted in such a bad injury, if he'd been playing on a grass and not a plastic pitch.

Great performance in middle two quarters. We have a lot of talent with multiple skills.
Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Sat 4th 17.05 TG4
I missed the last 10 minutes. Was Harry injured?

Didn’t seem to be in any pain in the post match scenes

Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Sat 4th 17.05 TG4
Presumably, confused HB for SP.
SP looked crocked.
Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Sat 4th 17.05 TG4
HB got a knock late on, but seemed ok after the game so I don’t think he was confusing the two.

Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Sat 4th 17.05 TG4
Harry was limping behind the ruck at the end. Just looked like a knock, he seemed to be OK after.
Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Sat 4th 17.05 TG4
Saw Penny, yeah. Fingers crossed it isn't too bad. Was never going to last long having all the senior back rows fit.

He was bleeding earlier

On 79 mins as Clarkson takes a carry there's a very worrying noise made right as Byrne goes town. Can clearly hear it on the coverage and sounds like either a tear or a bone.
Hopefully just a coincidence but if that was his knee/ankle he might be out for a while.
Penny to me looks like a potential dislocation of the shoulder if it's a bad one, but hopefully just a bang. He did an Alan Quinlan in Lens job on it.

That was 40 minutes of really good rugby from both teams, 20 minutes of brilliant rugby from Leinster, and then 20 minutes of up and down, more-mistakes-than-you-could-count, end-of-term stuff.
I thought Luke McGrath had an absolutely brilliant game, my man of the match. Reads the game brilliantly, as brave as a lion, super-fit, does so many things really well. He's playing some of the very best rugby of his career. Scott Penny was brilliant against an excellent opposite number in Hamish Watson, the 2021 Six Nations Player of the Championship. An excellent performance from Scott, really unfortunate and disappointing to see him go off injured at the end with what looked like a very painful arm injury.
Michael Milne also had a cracking game. He had a very undistinguished first half of the season – and basically didn't play at all last season – but has come out swinging for the fences in 2023. He is playing with steam coming out of his ears. McKee isn't as powerful, but he plays like a veteran. A tough, gnarly competitor with a load of smarts about him. I've had to double-check a couple of times this season that he is still in the academy – he should be bumped up to a senior deal mid-season. He's completely out-playing his contract.
Really impressive dodging and stepping and sprinting from Larmour, who must have evaded or broken eight or nine tackles before being taken off. He didn't actually have any scoring chances, but he still had a big game. A couple of great low tackles on big Bill Mata on the defensive side from him as well. The little and large partnership of Liam Turner and Jamie Osborne paid off a treat. Turner doesn't have the physical gifts of Osborne in terms of his stature or kicking ability, but he is nuggety, smart and really quick off the mark.
Overall, just a treat for the first hour. A super performance from 40-60 minutes that killed the game dead.

The one missed touch aside (cost us a try), I thought that was Harrys best game for us in a long long time.
defensively sound, played flat, kicked pretty well from both hand and tee. He did really well.

Re: Edinburgh v Leinster Sat 4th 17.05 TG4
To knit pick, he missed touch with the clearing peno after that big goal line stand and also had a big forward cut out pass. But I’d agree, it’s almost like having a run of games helped him find his mojo. Not too worried about the mistakes.

Yeah, meant Harry. He did something to his leg in the last two minutes and was struggling to stand, could barely kick it out at the end, but as mentioned, he actually seemed fine when the camera was on him post match, so hopefully a false alarm.
