Re: Leinster v Dragons Sat 18th Feb 7.35 RTE
Bath and Richmond both used to never use the number 13, the backs were numbered 11, 12, 14, 15 and 16

No idea what the correlation between the letters and the numbers was.
Maybe somebody can shed some light on the matter.
It may have been a league thing but pretty sure some union teams did it too.

Yep played for Nots back in the day! Not quite the Irish Quinn brothers Kevin and Gerry who were both dual internationals! Jeff Wilson played cricket for New Zealand too if memory serves.

Gatland isn't releasing any players from the Welsh squad for this weekend's games.
Look out Itchy, he's Irish

Talk of the players going on strike ahead of the England game.

Could our game vs Dragons be cancelled?
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

There's only 4 Dragons in the Wales squad though. Prop Leon Brown, hooker Bradley Roberts, flanker Aaron Wainwright and wing Rio Dyer.

Doesn’t matter it’s not the Welsh squad players that are only affected but currently all the region teams squads are currently on renewal freezes, so it would be the whole Welsh player base that could go on strike. If that happens we will likely be awarded the full points.

A few teams would take 0-28 away to Leinster if you offered it.Theleinsterlad wrote: ↑February 15th, 2023, 3:46 pmDoesn’t matter it’s not the Welsh squad players that are only affected but currently all the region teams squads are currently on renewal freezes, so it would be the whole Welsh player base that could go on strike. Sorry - yeah, get that. I meant it in reference to that first point about Garland not releasing players to the regions.Theleinsterlad wrote: ↑February 15th, 2023, 3:46 pmDoesn’t matter it’s not the Welsh squad players that are only affected but currently all the region teams squads are currently on renewal freezes, so it would be the whole Welsh player base that could go on strike. I think its next week that they are targeting, Dragons lads are probably planning a night out in Dublin with no game the following weekend.Theleinsterlad wrote: ↑February 15th, 2023, 3:46 pmDoesn’t matter it’s not the Welsh squad players that are only affected but currently all the region teams squads are currently on renewal freezes, so it would be the whole Welsh player base that could go on strike. Just a quick reminder to anyone travelling to the Dragons game on Saturday from South Dublin and Wicklow that there are no DART services between Dun Laoghaire and Greystones this Saturday and Sunday due to on track engineering works.
Make your alternative arrangements.
Forewarned etc etc.
Cheers.

Great to see Boyle in the team, any news on Joe McCarthy, he was definitely released?
