Lowe is seriously hungry for work. I'd say it's between himself and Doris for MOTM

Damn, I found myself laughing at Hugh Cahill's joke when asking Lenihan for MOTM

That was a fabulous in-goal tackle by Johnny at the end to keep them tryless. Leading by example and fair ****s to him!!!

Routine victory against an undermanned and outgunned Gloucester team

More importantly, there was a medical emergency in the Anglesea Stand right before kick-off.
Hoping that the individual involved pulls through.

Usually enjoy Leinster thrashing an English team, but found that curiously unsatisfying - relied on rolling maul for most tries and few really good back line moves. At least we seemed to avoid injuries and Sexton and Larmour got some game time. English clubs have managed to mess up a great competition!

+1 re the medical emergency

Good win. Baltic. 36 still a handy player. Fair play to Gloucester they never stopped trying.

Effective comprehensive win against limited but eager opposition.

In first half in particular, some of their forwards (and Twelvetrees) made cheap shots around breakdowns - notably JVdF, McGrath & Doris. Each of them was returned with interest at following breakdowns, notably by Conan, Porter & Ryan.

J10's tackle to prevent a try by them in 77th minute was excellent and epitomised the mindset, even if the skill level & continuity were below par.

Joe McC was good in second half & both Charlie Ng & Ringer were excellent in energy & mopping-up throughout the game. Hugo was faultless and a class act

50th Leinster try for James Lowe in his 6th season. Had 25 tries with the Chiefs too. What a scoring record.

Gloucester No 7 Clement spent the entire evening going in the side of breakdowns. He should have been carded for persistent infringement, notably just before McGrath try.

A very annoying opposition.

did I just imagine a two footed Steve McMahonesque tackle by 36 on Luke McGrath in the end zone last night?

really f%~kin dangerous stuff. wasn't the only time I seem to remember a tackle with the feet last night

Lowe, Ringrose,Doris amazing again. Looks like Sexton needed that 20 mins to shake some rust. A shoutout to Charlie Ngatai who despite a few mistakes has been getting consistantly better as the season has gone on, and seems to be really adapting now to the northern hemisphere, and the way we are playing. Great to see Larmour back. Thought Glous fought bravely and never gave up, certainly no shame considering the inexperience of their squad. Im sure they will have learned a lot

Scroll back in the thread and you’ll even see one of the tries somebody posted.
Apparently D’Arcy’s first ever Heineken Cup try.
D’Arcy’s first Heineken Cup try was on his debut against Llanelli in September 1998.
That makes a lot more sense. I thought I heard the commentator saying it and couldn’t believe it. Must have missed a “this season”.

Ah I don't think it was that bad - penalty and nothing more was a fair call imho. Not in the same league as Liam Williams.

Doris is in a rich vein of form. With him and VdF, we have two of the absolute top back rows in the world at the moment.

Lowe again was everywhere and is a real point of difference for us.

Everyone noticed Sexton’s incredible effort and textbook try-saving tackle at the end. JGP also had one a few minutes before. Absolutely what you want to see from two international halfbacks coming on to close out a game, and testament to the squad.

Like others, and although it seems churlish after 9 tries, there was lots to work on. Passed up a lot of opportunities and didn’t look very incisive.

I was gutted for Ross when he missed the first conversion. I couldn’t even remember the last time he missed.
Was it windy? It didn’t seem so in our garden (in south Dublin).
