Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
Edinburgh's form is dreadful. I haven't seen much of Leicester but I don't see Edinburgh doing much unless they're much better than recently.
Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
Bookies have Tigers 7 point favourites - 3rd in England (won last 5 league games) v Edinburgh 14th in URC (lost last 4 league games)

Some weird odds on all the games this weekend

Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
Edinburgh on paper have a excellent team; but games aren't won on paper. It's hard to fathom how they are so low in the URC. They beat Castres (no great shakes) home and away; gave Saracens a rattle in StoneX, and beat them in Edinburgh in that mad game where they didn't seem to know what was at stake/how to get it (a home last 16). Inconsistent is probably not the word; as they have been consistently bad in the second half of the season in the URC. Edinburgh can't seem to keep a performance going for the full 80 - something missing in the top 4 inches. If it was at Dam Health I'd back them; but even in Welford Road I think they''ll be a handful for the Tigers.

Scarlets -27 v Brive on Friday night in Llanelli in Challenge Cup. Yes Brive are currently last in Top 14, but must be a while since Scarlets were such heavy favourites!Blue not red blood wrote: ↑March 30th, 2023, 8:12 pm Following up on my post earlier this week.

Scarlets 1/80 v Brive 25/1. Brive may indeed turn out to be terrible, big odds mind.

Bulls -16 vs Toulouse is the one that stands out for me.
Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
Edinburgh's only win in the league since October was at home to Zebre.

+16 you mean, 16 point underdogs!Ray Donovan wrote: ↑March 31st, 2023, 6:16 am Bulls -16 vs Toulouse is the one that stands out for me.
Toulouse are -16 / 16 point favourites, Bulls are a decent side as they showed in Belfast. It may well be closer than the 16 point spread.
Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
Looking at the teams for the weekend, there will be some very interesting ties.

Exeter's side versus Montpellier looks a little understrength at key positions. Montpellier could easily win that.
I think Edinburgh will have a good crack at Tigers tonight and I also think Ospreys could have a good crack at Sarries on Sunday. Both will probably come up short on quality but won't be far off imo.
Toulouse v Bulls will likely be a total arm wrestle with Toulouse greater quality probably coming through in the end.
LAR will beat Gloucester fairly well. They've Ultan Dillane playing at 6 in a fairly fearsome pack incl Bourgarit, Scalvi, Botia, Skelton, Atonio & Aldritt. Four men over 135kg in their 23.
Looking at the 'DHL Derby' Stormers v Quins, Stormers side is almost identical to last week. So will be very interesting to see how they go versus Quins. I'd back them to win that, but Quins attacking structure might cause them a few issues.
Great weekend of rugby ahead.

Hope Harelequins don’t get a nose bleed with all that travel
Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
Edinburgh not being rewarded for a dominant scrum. Some strange decisions from Raynal and the TJ, yet again.
Dont Panic!

This is fairly poor game.

Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
Weather making this game turn into a kick and error fest.
Edinburgh look better in attack but are giving away too many pens.
Raynal is being very harsh on them.
Tigers are all grunt and box kick, which has been relatively effective but not much else.
Edinburgh well in this if they can cut out errors, albeit their forwards are having to work very, very hard. Could do with Duhan and Laing taking some of the carrying load from them.
Poor Darcy Graham having a bit of a mare.

HT: Leicester 3-0 Edinburgh. One for the purists. No lack of huff and puff, but damn all else....
Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
Terrible fare. I don't think vd Merwe has got a pass yet.

Like a throwback to a Munster cup game in the 80’s
Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
But BT called it an "enthralling" game and are wondering why Tigers aren't winning by more...
I wonder what they're watching sometimes

God this is a tough watch
Re: Heineken Cup 2022/23
I would heavily fancy both us and Ulster against either of these sides next week. Leicester have done literally nothing except live of errors and Edinburgh have made loads of them.
Proper kamikaze stuff.
Darcy Graham looks like he doesn't want to be on the pitch.

Edinburgh doing their best to throw away this game. Leicester have done nothing really.
