Injury update above.

Assuming we're still largely without the players who toured NZ, likely to see the following team;

15 Max O'Reilly; 14 Rob Russell, 13 Jamie Osborne, 12 Charlie Ngatai, 11 Dave Kearney; 10 Ross Byrne, 9 Luke McGrath; 1 Ed Byrne*/Michael Milne, 2 Ronan Kelleher, 3 Michael Ala'alatoa; 4 Ross Molony, 5 Jason Jenkins; 6 Rhys Ruddock, 7 Scott Penny/Will Connors, 8 Max Deegan

16 John McKee, 17 Milne/Marcus Hanan/Jack Boyle, 18 Vakh Abdaladze, 19 Alex Soroka/Brian Deeny, 20 Penny/Connors, 21 Nick McCarthy, 22 Harry Byrne*/Sam Prendergast, 23 Chris Cosgrave

* if they're available given their reduced involvement in NZ

That would be the side I'd go for too with Penny & Milne starting.

I assume Kelleher will be available which is a big boost considering injury to JT and possibly Barron.

Ross being fit is a boost too as I don't know if Harry is back.

I think I'd also have Foley in the 21 jersey personally.

Wouldn't disagree about Foley but suspect McCarthy will get the nod.

I wonder if the tour to SA will have any influence on selection? You'd imagine the Ireland management want certain players to get some game time now before all the internationals are back and it's too late to get them up to speed for the trip. Even just one or two selections like wanting Boyle on the bench or Soroka ahead of Rhys.

There was no mention of Clarkson in the injury update, if he's fit I'd want him to play and expect a really big season from him.

Looks like a lot of the internationals are back in training anyway. Whether we'll see them at the weekend is another story.

McCarthy & Larmour running around too which is a good sign.

Who'd play 12? Brownlee or Prendergast? Osborne at 12, with O'Reilly at 13? It's looking a bit thin on the ground there.

There are usually surprises with guys coming back at the start of the season so I wouldn't be shocked to see Frawley play, but if Harry is fit you could have the Byrnes at 10 and 12.

Spose.

I genuinely wouldn't mind seeing Deegan fill in at 12 sometime.

Love it

Obviously it won’t happen but I’d be up for something mad like that in preparation for 6-2 split on the bench some time.

Am I crazy or did Munster play David Wallace at 12 in a couple of league games many moons ago?

Not quite, they played him on the wing once, against the Borders I think, and followed that up with a couple of starts for Leamy at centre

I don't remember us playing Jenno there, but I do remember us trying Niall Ronan in that position

Weather for the match on Saturday doesn't look great. At least the temperatures look reasonable, but will be wet according to the current forecast.

Don't think he started there but Kidney had moved him there during a game. Jenno went to Leicester soon after I think and we all know what happened to Kidney....

Pretty much as expected. Would've like to seen Milne start personally, but nice looking side.

Soroka seemingly down as a backrow and Frawley as #22 sub is interesting.
