Big Mike is a really important signing.

While he hasn't had the impact of other overseas players, he's an absolutely vital cog in the team given Furlong's absences and Vakh/Clarkson's challenges.

Happy with that. Also nice to see Sean O'Brien sign his first pro contract with Connacht. Makes sense he would leave here.

Oh some people on here won't be happy with that. Think they were expecting more from a NIQ (though I'm not sure what) and were hoping for a change.

Delighted meself! I think he's a smashing player :D

Leinster have set such high standards for so long, that some posters are starting to lose the run of themselves a bit. I mean we recently had a poster comment on how Jack Boyle wasn't playing up to par!

I know. And Boyle, metaphorically speaking, hardly out of his nappies as a professional player. It's mad, Ted!!!!

I think we are a bit light in the back 3, especially when the internationals are away. Is Frawley seen as a long term 15? Do we expect one of the academy players to make the step up next year? King perhaps?

Hopefully that's a sign of confidence in his recovery from injury.

I really, really hope TOB gets an injury free run next year. He would definitely be pushing for a first choice 23 slot if he did imo.

I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

The foreign signings that haven't worked out are easier forgotten. Ms Minogue sums it up well. Mike hasn't ripped up trees nor let Leinster down. Give the impression of being a good guy in the dressingroom too.

Jamie Osborne in a leg brace in Aviva today according to Cian Tracey.

That's a huge shame. Don't remember him going off with anything bad after Embra game. A leg brace would suggest otherwise.

It probably happened in the international training camp. He was in the Ireland camp after the Edinburgh game.

That's true actually. Wasn't there talk of him having a knock after Embra game as well or am I misremembering that?

The Ireland squad announcement after the Edinburgh game said that Osborne and Penny were not recalled because they both picked up ‘minor’ injuries against Edinburgh. Frawley and Timony called up instead

We're exiting the 6N with:

A fully fit starting front row of Porter, Sheehan and Furlong. Kelleher is apparently going to be fine in a short turnaround. Healy is back to good form. Sheehan is in the form of his life.
Ryan in unbelievable form and fully fit. Baird has come on leaps and bounds and will have learned a lot from O'Connell in the last few weeks and it will be interesting to see which of him and Jenkins or him and Conan start big games now.
VDF, Doris, Conan all fit and firing. Conan back to something like his best form.
Sexton might have a knock, but I suspect he'll be back in soon. Ross Byrne has a new pile of experience behind him which will stand to him massively. JGP back fit and getting back to his best.
Henshaw playing back to full fitness and it looks like Ringrose (form of his life) will be fine in a couple of weeks.
Lowe, Keenan and Jimmy O'Brien look in great shape.

Various players got time in squad and they'll be itching to play big games for us now - Molony, Lamour etc. Looks like only Osbourne and McCarthy are injured now from the Irish contingent.

So all in all, Leinster seem to be coming out of the six nations better than when we started it. Bodes well for the season ahead.
