That's a real shame for James. A fine player for Leinster.

Made his debut in November 2012 away to the Ospreys, same day as Andrew Goodman.

Leaves us with a quite young but very talented group of hookers in the squad.
Look out Itchy, he's Irish

Gutted for him. Seems like a top bloke too. Just looking at his stats ...... man he's had some career. Never released he mad it to 6 Ireland caps. He should be very proud.

It’s sad to hear when a player doesn’t get to retire on their own terms. Thanks for all the big moments in blue. He played in a lot of games surrounded by our young lads, games I would have had a bit of fear about before they started but by the end it was business as usual. Great team guy by all accounts. Best of luck James. :happy clapper:

Good guy. Great Squad player who optimised his talents right up to a great jersey which he deserved. Lovely to hear Leo's comments about his contributions off the pitch.

Excellent, thoughtful, statement. Good luck to him and his family. Personality & experience-wise, he'd make an excellent scrum Coach he learn something every step of his journey.

Rob Russell is flying under the radar a bit, but he's having a cracking season.

Averaging a try a game and starting to look really comfortable defensively and in our attacking system.

He's 10th in the league for clean breaks and averages 6 metres a carry.

He has improved enormously since a fairly disastrous start against Zebre.

Very handy squad player.

Sexton suffered a cheek bone injury during the game against Connacht Rugby and will have a procedure today and will be further assessed then.

Both McGrath and Deegan are unavailable after picking up an ankle injuries.

The lack of update on Jenkins as well as no clarity on actually what happened him is a bit concerning to me.

Based on his social media it would not appear he had surgery (although to be fair there's no realistic way of knowing)

I've resigned to the fact we wont see him for the January European games but I just hope it's not a serious tear and he'd be struggling to get back in time for the knock outs.
He's gotten awfully fond of that brick

According to Birch, Johnny is back for the start of the 6 nations. Could have been a lot worse.

There’s a photo of Johnny here with a strange contraption on his face.

I guess he won't be sleeping on his left side for a while.

Jeez- my first thought was photoshop, but I guess not.

He’s like a real life model for a Toby jug with that “handle”…

Is Dave Kearney injured or if he just not getting selected anymore?

Not being selected.

JOB, Larmour and Lowe all ahead of him, and Rob Russell getting all available minutes to help his development. He seems to be the academy back three they are betting on.

Kearney is sitting in the back as a break glass option.

Is there any news on Frawley or a timeline for his return?

He was listed as "No updates" in the injury report, so, in short, no news.

Everytime I see Brian Deeny in those photos I think it's Conor O'Brien. A slightly scaled-up version.

Good to see Tommy O'Brien back out on the pitch. It's coming up on seven months since his injury, so hopefully we may have him back by the end of the Six Nations.

Any word on the nature of JJ’s injury and likely recovery time?
