Brilliant to see former academy prospect Tim darcy getting transferring his talents to the music industry with his new band thisisyawa. Man of many talents on and off pitch. Sea of blue no doubt will be out in numbers to support Timo soon.

Scrumhalf
U20 level
Fintan Gunne(St. Michaels/Terenure)
Image
Oscar Cawley(Naas RFC/Naas)
Image

Gunne, who hasnt played this season due to a shoulder injury, made his debut for Leinster A last season while still in school, the highly rated scrumhalf will hope to return from injury in time for the u20 six nations. Cawley is less heralded than Gunne but has been a constant in leinster underage sides and has already impressed at AIL level, with three tries to his name in 3 games.

U19 level
Oliver Coffey(Blackrock)
Image
Tadgh Brophy(Newbridge)
Image

Coffey played for Ireland u18 last season and started twice for Leinster u19 this year, he was a key member of Blackrocks SCT winning side and returns again this season. Brophy played for ireland 18 7's and ireland u18 last season and started once for Leinster u19, smaller than Coffey he offers a great breaking threat and can be electric in open play, scoring two tries in his only start for the 19s. Both will battle it out tbis season to prove who is the best scrumhalf playing schools rugby this season.

U18 level
Andrew Doyle(Athy RFC)
Image

Doyle played for ireland and leinster u18 clubs side last season as a u17, he returns this season and will hope to play for ireland u18 again.

Unbelievable pace.

2 older brothers start at 13 and 14 for Tullamore in the AIL I believe.

Sorry but I'm not sure how dialed into the AIL people here are but the idea that "especially Terenure" are paying players is absolutely hilarious if you know anything about the league and the clubs in it
Terenure do have a good history of looking after their own job wise, by their own admission in various AIL final previews last year, but its more a "we'll help you find something", rather than having things lined up in most cases, asking members/connections if anyone knows of jobs for players with X,Y,Z qualifications.
Terenure probably have the highest percentage of players from one school in the league and a quick google shows that most of the non Terenure players either have connections to the coaches, Marsh was in the same year as the Terenure forwards coach in Michaels for eg, same forwards coach currently coaches Michaels seniors, thus the two lads this year. Couple lads were coached by Skehan down in Glenstal. It's the same reason a load of Gonzaga lads go to Lansdowne, just as another example off the top of my head. Players, particularly those just out of school, will go where they know people, be they coaches or other players.
Also believe a couple lads have dad's that went to the school so obviously a big, non financial, connection there.

There's also the fact that Terenure have, since being promoted, gained a really good reputation for how they play rugby. That goes a long long way these days for players looking to enjoy their rugby.

interesting to see 2nd row James Doyle(U20/Enniscorthy/Lansdowne) training with seniors today at open training in Tullow.

dont see too many other non-academy lads there, although I think Colm Hogan trained with them today but not 100%
