Is the Gonzaga out half in the Leinster/Irish underage system? Haven’t noticed his name but he was outstanding in the final, looked a real talent
Re: Leinster Academy 22-23
I listened to one of the off the ball podcasts where they were talking about the under 20s back to back grand slams, and Jackman and Kinsella were both saying that apparently next year's team is even better than the last two. Anyone have an idea why they think that? Who are the big prospects?

Yeah I heard that too and then saw the result of the U19s a day later going down to the Japanese. Probably nothing to do with thatCiaranIrl wrote: ↑March 30th, 2023, 10:24 pm I listened to one of the off the ball podcasts where they were talking about the under 20s back to back grand slams, and Jackman and Kinsella were both saying that apparently next year's team is even better than the last two. Re: Leinster Academy 22-23
I watched both U.19 games v Japan. Not unexpectedly, it was a case of a very tightly coached touring team up against two, relatively, scratch teams as Irish Squad had been assembled hurriedly because of Cup campaigns & other pressures.
Lots of talent among the Irish players but quite a disparity between some within the Squads. Relative to the cohesion and skills evident in (Leinster) schools Cup teams, neither Irish team displayed much tactical cohesion.
Coaching time makes all the difference and presumably they'll have time together before they face the French..

Jack Boyle with a hat trick for UCD against trinity on Friday night.
Re: Leinster Academy 22-23
The Irish Rugby match report is only crediting him with 2 tries in the game: https://www.irishrugby.ie/2023/04/01/en ... -round-up/mildlyinterested wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2023, 4:42 pm Jack Boyle with a hat trick for UCD against trinity on Friday night.
Is it a bit surprising he wasn't with the Leinster A side in London on Friday? Presumably Milne and Hanan were the two LHPs who travelled?
