Champions Cup Draw done.......
Still less than two weeks notice for the first games.
Final group stage matches in Champions League will be completed about a month and a half before the European Champions Cup commences.

Wow.

Virimi Vakatawa has been banned by the LNR for an unspecified medical condition.

He won't be able to continue his career in France.
Big loss for them. I wonder what it is. Maybe concussion.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

He was originally contracted by FFR directly, before R92 signed him. Although he was in French Squad in Japan during the summer, he has recently had knee surgery and FFR decision not to allow him a Licence on medical grounds will be explained at PC today by Galtie.

Speculation in French Rugby media this morning (Sud-Ouest, L'Equipe) is that it could be a 'probleme cardiaque' and as a member of the French Squad, he has already been referred to an appropriate expert Consultant. However, whether he is eligible to play overseas may ultimately be a decision for his club Racing92, who hold his contract - not his Licence

Confirmed this morning. First detected in 2019 but now showing signs of "progressive deterioration". Really tough position for a wonderful talent. Live long and happy big man and mind yourself.

The Heineken Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup are set for a major viewership boost with the announcement that BT Sport, as well as ITV, RTÉ and S4C, have all agreed multi-year partnerships for the new broadcast cycle in the UK and Ireland.

For seasons 22/23 & 23/24, via @chrisjonespress on twitter.

RTÉ will televise eight free-to-air Heineken Champions Cup matches this season, including the final, after securing live broadcast rights to a select number of games for the next two seasons. RTÉ has confirmed that it will broadcast the following games live and free-to-air on RTÉ Two television and on RTÉ Player in 2022/2023.

Sunday 11 December: Munster Rugby vs. Stade Toulousain, 1515 kick-off
Friday 16 December: Leinster Rugby vs. Gloucester Rugby, 2000 KO
Saturday 14 January: Munster Rugby vs. Northampton Saints, 1515 KO
Saturday 21 January: Leinster Rugby vs. Racing 92, 1515 KO

RTÉ will broadcast live coverage of one game from each subsequent round up to and including the final in Dublin on Saturday, 20 May, 2023.

Typical of this organization - select fixture details being leaked before the whole list of dates/times are even made available!

It probably signals an imminent presss release of all fixture dates though I'm sure.....and good to see more free to air coverage

Bit worried looking at those that our Gloucester away game might be on the Sunday - though hopefully the later Saturday slot
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

It's our away games I want to see on free-to-air. I'll be at the home ones.

Presumably means that our away game against Racing 92 won't be on the Sunday.

Do we have any idea at all what stadium we are likely to be playing our away game against Racing 92 in? Would love to go to Paris in December, but I'm guessing the game probably won't be in Paris.

The return game v Gloucester maybe will be selected by ITV.

Bit of a difference between Paris & Le Harve for a weekend away...

I don't think Racing have played there before and it's an outdoor stadium instead of an indoor / artificial turf one so that should be a bit of a leveller.

Still would've loved a visit to the U Arena though.

Was having a quick look at how to get there, seems like flying to Paris and making your way from there is the only option. It's about a 2 hour drive away.

I guess if you think of it from Racing's perspective, Le Harve is easy enough for their fans to get to and harder for ours, could be deliberate.
