Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
So, one less European game next season? I think the two leg format was a failure and resulted in as many dead rubbers as you had with the 6 group game format, so I can understand why they have cut one of those ties.
I think we need to just cut to the chase and do a random draw, picking two of the qualified teams and make that the final. One game, done and dusted and then we can all focus on the Premiership / Top 14.

You can sure, if there many more no anglo semis participants that it will be changed again. And look at the roll of stadiums since the nigels took control, only twickers (their own) and Murrayfield (who bent the knee IIRC) of the Union stadiums used.

There probably isn’t much they can do about it but the first two rounds clash with the business end of the World Cup so it’s likely to start with a whimper.
Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
I like the fact they've spread the finals outside of the 6N international stadiums. Would be great if they could have another final in a non-traditional country again ( e.g Netherlands/NW Germany) or Italy.blockhead wrote: ↑May 10th, 2022, 12:22 pmSerb wrote: ↑May 10th, 2022, 12:15 pm So, one less European game next season? Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
Supposed to be in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but not confirmed yet as it may not be available in May due to the soccer season being different in 22/23 with the Winter World Cup in Qatar.

The selections they've made have been a complete pain from a fan point of view, Bilbao and Marseilles are really difficult to get to. London, Milan, Rome, Paris or if you want to go non traditional, Brussels, Amsterdam, Madrid - all a lot easier.cormac wrote: ↑May 10th, 2022, 12:29 pmI like the fact they've spread the finals outside of the 6N international stadiums. You want to fly to Marseilles now and you're paying 700 quid.

Or that of Genesis? Only learnt from Gervais on OTB last night, that the aging prog rockers gig in the La Défense Arena is the reason, that Racing match against Team RO'G is being played in Lens. GT went up in my estimation, when he remarked, that if either Ed Sheeran or Genesis was playing near his house, he'd abandon it for a few hours and go off for a walk!!!

No Premier League/Champions League or European top tier leagues. BT will probably be promoting the tournament to the hilt for those first two rounds.cormac wrote: ↑May 10th, 2022, 2:46 pmFIFA World Cup Nov/Dec 2022Flash Gordon wrote: ↑May 10th, 2022, 2:41 pmWorld Cup is in September/October no?LeRouxIsPHat wrote: ↑May 10th, 2022, 12:24 pm There probably isn’t much they can do about it but the first two rounds clash with the business end of the World Cup so it’s likely to start with a whimper.
