Yup, 3 of the English sides and 3 of the French sides will get a bit of Sun in Dec/Jan in South Africa.
Hu-ho they won't like that Ted! :D

I can see that being the next big complaint "It's not fair we had to travel to South Africa and now we have Sun stroke" The big soft Nellie's
They're already at it on the Leicester fans forum; complaining about everything ranging from it can't be good for elite athletes to have to travel so much, carbon footprint, how will the club be able to afford the travel, player welfare, definitely can't fight on 2 fronts etc.

Meh, the SA teams will have to go over and back twice.

The carbon footprint argument is salient.

The success of 'carbon footprint' to make those not in control feel responsible for global warming kinda hits harder though.
Whatever facilitates the best rugby as those flights will run no matter what.

Could we make them go by boat? I have no objections to that :D

Great idea. To achieve the desired carbon footprint reduction a sailboat would be required, methinks...

Rowing is the best option, eventually overtime we will evolve to have fast twitch muscle fibre comparable to Pacific Islanders. We won't see the benefits but our great-great, and so on grandchildren may

If we win on Friday our opponents in the group stages of next season's tournament will be one of Exeter/London Irish and one of Clermont/Lyon. If we lose, it'll be one of Gloucester/Sale with potential French opponents TBC after the Barrage round next weekend.

So, if by some fluke we win the URC *nods to mockers* we get from best to worst
Lyon, Exeter
Clermont LI

As runner up we’d get the same?

Will be interesting to see where Exeter and clermont land next season with the clear outs and change in personal. We’ll have a leg up on Lyon and LI with SOB amd ngatai coming in. Hoping there’s no return of Jackson to the aviva.

And if we can’t overcome the bulls,

Racing/Bordeaux, Gloucester
Toulouse/ LAR, sale

One of these is not like the other

Is it not Clermont or Toulon? Lyon finished 9th.

Toulon pipped again for the 2nd year in a row by the winner of the challenge cup which is fittingly Lyon.

Ah, I didn't realise the Challenge Cup winner got a spot for themselves.

Then shouldn't it be Toulon or Lyon for us next year? According to Ultimate Rugby the Top14 top 8 was:

Castres
Montpellier
Bordeaux
Toulouse
Racing
La Rochelle
Toulon
Clermont

With Lyon in 9th do they take Clermont's spot?

Clermont are 1pt ahead of Toulon in the table. And LAR are ahead of racing .

The Ultimate Rugby app is absolute dog shît — the reason it has the tables wrong is because it counts the playoff games as league games and awards points for them

It’s fine for me.

If I select one of the Top14 games from yesterday and then select the table it brings me to a table which is wrong. If I search for the Top14 as a league it shows me the correct table.
