Re: The Quickening 2022
Stormers in a pretty good position now. They’ll more than likely be 3 points behind us coming into the last game of the season, assuming they go 5-0 vs us. We could end up third if we don’t do the business against Munster at home.
Re: The Quickening 2022
Some bunch of athletes that Stormers team. Will definitely be in the shakeup.
Re: The Quickening 2022
Munster enjoying playing an interpro that's not against us.
Look out Itchy, he's Irish

Re: The Quickening 2022
I think that's a bit of a stretch. We're on 60 with three games to go. Ulster/Munster/Sharks can get 61 and the most Stormers can get 62. In three of those four, that total requires bonus point wins against us, the league leaders, and they'll need to avoid us getting a lbp.
Hardly panic stations.

Re: The Quickening 2022
Yeah, in fairness, I think I posted that before the Ulster vs Munster game, so that changes the picture somewhat.
We could still end up second, but think that’s as low as we could go now realistically.

Re: The Quickening 2022
1 point in next two games puts us through on top now.
Re: The Quickening 2022
Ah now. Only if the stormers don't beat us and the Scarlets by over 120 points minus whatever we lose to them and Munster by. And they get at least 4 tries in both games. And we get nothing more that that single point....

I'm glad someone on here is good at the sums!!!
Re: The Quickening 2022
That was my way of saying that he was effectively correct but that there was a remote mathematical possibility of being incorrect.

Re: The Quickening 2022
Scarlets still in with a mathematical chance of top 8. Unlikely.
Leinster should get what they need (a point) out of their last 2.
Glasgow and Embra have to take points off each other in the last game. Probably both in away QFs
Ulster have a do or die game in Embra next round. Get the win and you would back them for a home QF v the Sharks in the last game
Munster probably get 5 away to Cardiff then be playing us in LR for top 4
Stormers look good for a home QF playing a weakened Leinster and the Scarlets.
Sharks will likely beat Connacht but could come a cropper in Ravenhill
Bulls have Glasgow at home and the unfancied Ospreys away. Possibly the easiest games of the top 8
My prediction. Leinster, Stormers, Munster & Ulster for the home QFs Outside bets... Bulls and Sharks.

Re: The Quickening 2022
Can anyone enlighten me if it is head to head or points differential in the event of a tie?
Re: The Quickening 2022
From the Rules
The positions of the Clubs in the League Stage will be entered into the Standard League Table and will be based on the following, in order:
a) the number of League Points awarded to each Club;
b) if unresolved, the number of Matches won by each Club in the League Stage;
c) if unresolved, the difference between the total points scored and the total points conceded on the field of play for each Club in all Matches in the League Stage;
d) if unresolved, the number of tries scored by each Club in all Matches in the League Stage;
e) if unresolved, the number of points scored on the field of play by each Club in all Matches in the League Stage;
f) if unresolved, the difference between the number of tries scored and the number of tries conceded by each Club in all Matches in the League Stage;
g) if unresolved, the number of Players suspended by a Disciplinary Committee or Appeal Committee for incidents taking place in the League Stage (i.e. the Club with fewer will be positioned higher);
h) if unresolved, the number of yellow cards received by Players for each Club in all Matches in the League Stage (i.e. the Club with fewer will be positioned higher); and
i) if unresolved, the toss of a coin or as otherwise determined by Pro Rugby Championship in its absolute discretion.
For the purposes of this clause, what qualifies as a yellow card will be determined by Pro Rugby Championship in its absolute discretion.
Re: The Quickening 2022
Cheers for that
Re: The Quickening 2022
The URC app has Embra on 49 points?
Have to say this is definitely the most exciting of run ins to a league campaign we've had in years. although the Top8 is largely locked in (queue embra losing their last 2 and scarlets with 2 heroic wins!), positions 2-8 can really go either way.
The real worry is how well the SA teams have adapted and likely to have 2 home Quarter finalists. I think it'll be great for Leinster overall to have them in, but given they are taken Euro spots next season not so good for other Union teams.
Re: The Quickening 2022
Yup Edinburgh are on 49 points, 1 behind Glasgow. Bulls have won 9 games.locho wrote: ↑April 27th, 2022, 10:15 amThe URC app has Embra on 49 points?

Re: The Quickening 2022
Sorry chaps. Few pints on board doing that. And I had to do it by eye as the table wasn't updated on the official site.
Capetown way nicer than Durban.

Re: The Quickening 2022
This is the points gap to the teams that can pass or catch Leinster. Ulster and Sharks play each other so only one of those can theoretically catch Leinster.
Stormers 126
Munster 95
Sharks 139
Ulster 161
If we slip up and finish second or third, there's every chance that the final will be in Capetown.
