Would be happy enough with that scenario. As you say, the lads have been playing high intensity rugby for weeks a prop isn't like a half back play maker....although sometimes Tadhg's dancing feet and offloading would suggest otherwise!
I just have this vision of so many young props trying to replicate this at school level, frustrating their teachers & coaches no end. I can imagine the refrain now

I know right? Dan Sheahan also needs to be left with the front row union bar tab after that disgraceful side step of Mack Hansen last Friday too.

Possibly, goes back to Mike Alaalatoa being released for Barbarians game that never was.
So, just to be clear, the reason the Mike Alaalatoa should not have been released to play for his country is because the game vs the BaBas was cancelled due to Covid?

I just want to be sure I’m reading this correctly
Errr no. That's not what I said, do you really think me or anyone else would suggest that he shouldn't have been released because we should have known that the Barbarians would have a covid outbreak? Mike was released to play the Barbarians game so therefore Furlong had to play after returning from international duty, that's what happened. Furlong has time he is allowed to play for us and rest time given he's an Ireland player. If he used that time playing after international duty that comes out of the allocation.
OK, got it. It was weird to tack on the “that never was” at the end, it wasn’t required.

Alaalatoa needs gametime. Furlong could do with less. Bath are a bit patched together. It's a no brainer to give him or Healy a shot at tighthead and have a fresher Furlong for Montpellier.

I had a flashback to Denis Hickie stepping down the wing at Donnybrook before realising it was Dan. I'd say it'll be a long week in training for Mack given the amount of stick he's going to get!

From the bits I'd seen of Milne I was very hopeful he could be the answer to the Healy ageing LH issue, but he' been fraught with injuries. He's still very young so I'm hopeful he'll come good still. Sure, we've some young bloke called Andrew now ( copyright Gevaise Thornley)

Returning to full training this week. I'd start Luke and Jameson Linkin-Park to come on as a finisher

Yes, he's the "RFP" listed above - whatever that's about.

Long time protocol on here that any three random letters refer to JGP e.g. LPG, ESB, RFP - whatever you like.
I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

The OCD is right as always.

JGP to start this weekend so. Ordinarily I'd want Luke for the game next week but on form JGP is miles ahead. It'll be interesting to see how he does if he starts there because if he can carry on his Ireland form in a big away game like that then it's a big boost.

I want to see more of Lowe this week, it was disappointing that we didn't use him more like Ireland have been doing.

I've no doubt we'll win but I'd be slightly wary of Bath having a shot to nothing and getting a break from the Premiership when it's going so badly.

I'd go for something like
Porter
Sheehan
Big Mike
Ross M
JR
Deegan
Will Connors
Doris
Luke
Harry
Lowe
Henshaw
Ringer
Adam Byrne
Larmour
That should be more than enough to put a score on Bath, and rest the likes of Furlong, Kelleher and Keenan for Montpellier

I thought it was strange that he was straight out of the squad again for the Conn game. I think him and JVdf to divide the time in the Monpellier game between them would have been useful. One to start and go full pelt and then let the other one off the lease. Pity that!

Can / do Leinster train outside on a day like today or do they do something useful in the Gym?

Having been briefly outside this morning in South Dublin, I can confirm it is impossible to control a ball in any way this morning, except perhaps putting the ball into a scrum. Lineouts - impossible; passing - impossible; catching a high ball - impossible; kicking - possible, but no control on direction;

So what do they do by way of prep for Saturday or is the day a write off on any physical work and devoted totally to video work?
