Re: United Rugby Championship
When I look at the Officials listed for Sharks v Connacht, you can't imagine anything but a car crash will result. Putting Adamson with Immelman is a recipe for ٪@#÷&*¥₩.
I know nothing about Cwengile Jaderweni or Stephen Geldenhuys but on recent experience they won't need to turn on their mics, every instruction will be incoming from Immelman

Re: United Rugby Championship
Haven’t seen it discussed elsewhere:
Why are we hosting our final home game of the season - which we will probably need to win, to secure a home path - in Lansdowne Road and not the RDS?
We’ve had plenty of games against Munster over the past few years and may have more this season.

I'm sure they've run the numbers, but it will hardly be a sell out?Theleinsterlad wrote: ↑April 27th, 2022, 7:28 amcurates_egg wrote: ↑April 27th, 2022, 6:24 am Haven’t seen it discussed elsewhere:

It's communion season, and the brave and faithful will be saving theirs for another day in the sun later in the season surely?
And will many extra Leinster fans (than would have gone to the RDS) really show up?
It seems unnecessary.
Re: United Rugby Championship
Was originally scheduled for early April and then moved. Fairly certain they'd already sold tickets for that date in the Aviva so they could hardly turn around and then change back to the RDS after the game was swapped with the away match.curates_egg wrote: ↑April 27th, 2022, 6:24 am Haven’t seen it discussed elsewhere:

We won't need to win it to secure a home path either.

Thanks. That's the only explanation that makes sense. A shame.cormac wrote: ↑April 27th, 2022, 8:24 amWas originally scheduled for early April and then moved. One point from the next two will give us that route.

Re: United Rugby Championship
I know it should be a foregone conclusion, but coaches and players can't think like that.
So many things can happen.
Re: United Rugby Championship
FFS even stopping the Stormers from getting 4 tries this week will get us a home final. if we do need anything at all from Munster then it will be a LBP
We have been playing games in LR since long before it was the Aviva statement. We have played a regular season game there in the HC and also a league one every year since it reopened. Normally the Munster game.
It's been on the season ticket. Not sure how long it's been on general sale but it would be a logistical nightmare to change it to the RDS and why would you want to anyway even if it was easy?

Well it's not a foregone conclusion! We need one point from two games to do it.curates_egg wrote: ↑April 27th, 2022, 8:55 amI know it should be a foregone conclusion, but coaches and players can't think like that.

We don't need a win thankfully.
Re: United Rugby Championship
Note to self when I’m being critical of officials I must remember that Ben Whitehouse is still by far #1. *Shudders*
Fingers crossed he stays clear of anything to do with our games for the rest of the season.

Re: United Rugby Championship
Couple this with Pontypool calling for the resignation of the Community Rugby Committee of the Welsh RFU because their principle League was not completed this year because one Club (allegedly) refused to play it's fixtures. You couldn't make up the saga that is Welsh Club rugby.

I wonder if they do dump one out will that open the door to the cheetahs re-entering?
Re: United Rugby Championship
THis has been coming for 10 years. The only question was who would get the chop.
