Not so sure about that. Madison Square Garden has a capacity of just over 20k for basketball.

Its going to be Munster and the paymasters will be delighted.

Leinster vs Munster will draw a lot more money. There will probably be an extra €1,000,000 in ticket sales.

I was thinking the same. The IRFU and SA Rugby Union must be delighted with the URC. The Bulls v Stormers game had a serious crowd and the Stormers get a semi-final against an entertaining team on their way to defending their title. The Irish and SA coffers are filling again after covid which is good for us.

Next season's URC competition will begin on the weekend of October 20-21. That's the weekend of the World Cup semi-finals.

Means Ireland will need to pick a sizeable training squad for preparation for the RWC as the provinces won't be up to speed when replacements are required during the tournament.

As an aside from all the excitement of the present, does anyone know how the Heineken seedings are set for next season ?
Do we need to win semi to get a 1 or 2 pot ?

The finalists are seeded 1 and 2 and the rest are in the order of the league table as far as I know.

Finalists in the URC are seeded 1 and 2. After that the rankings are based on league position.

I don't recall seeing any announcement on the format for next season's Heineken Cup.

Stormers in the final, 43-25 winners over Connacht ultimately. It was a one score game with 5 minutes left but some awful kick fielding gifted Stormers a late try.

Super game and final score flatters the Stormers. Based on that game, you'd think Leinster would beat Stormers in Dublin, and even that Munster might beat them again in Cape Town.

Iirc it’s champions/challenge cup winner, URC winner, shield winners, league position.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

Not at all. Excellent player. Incredible workrate and leadership and a world class loosehead. Great bit of work to get him contracted for three years.
