It’s my understanding Cardiff Rugby’s Champions Cup clash with Toulouse in France has been cancelled due to the number of Covid cases in the Toulouse camp.

Might be just Chinese whispers but a couple of people saying this on twitter now.

Yes, Midi Olympique also carrying that as confirmed but they are starting the noise for a 0-0 result and two points each because Toulouse say they could field A team.

Could be a few twists and turns this weekend yet based on the teams named.

Clermont look strong and could cause an upset in Belfast if Ulster aren't careful.
Connacht haven't gone full strength and might be under pressure in Paris.
Bordeaux are missing quite a few including Jalibert and could lose without any points in Leicester.
La Rochelle don't look as strong as usual and Glasgow's pack and bench forwards look good.

Looking at the table Toulouse may well sneak through still to the last 16 and someone is going to get a nasty surprise in the round of 16.....

They need Wasps & Castres to both win for them to not progress, or Stade having a huge TBP win at home to Connacht and one of the other results happening. So I reckon they're through alright. Likely as 7th place. Would be a bit of a sickener for Ulster to get them.

I think it might actually be a good thing for us to tackle them now with a home leg second tbh.

From France Bleu. It looks like the French league are backing Toulouse.

"Scandalous decision" according to the LNR, which is considering legal action
The National Rugby League goes to the support of Stade Toulousain after the decision of the EPCR. In a press release, the LNR "denounces a scandalous and totally unfounded decision". According to the League, Toulouse "has formed a group of players to field a team capable of playing this match, and this in full respect of the EPCR health regulations and the French health protocol".

The LNR believes that "EPCR's decision is therefore taken in violation of its own regulations. It is incomprehensible and seriously harms the club and the fairness of the competition".

"This decision is irresponsible," continues the president of the National Rugby League, René Bouscatel. "I have decided to convene an LNR Steering Committee urgently to discuss the follow-up, including legal action, to be taken following this decision".

Toulouse and also the LNR going mental about the awarding of the 28-0 result, saying that Toulouse were able to field a fit and healthy 23.
Sound familiar?

Pity Leinster didn't have the URC row in behind them.

There is little chance that EPCR reverses this decision as they would have to change their previous decisions, including our own, and it would be a humiliating volte-face. But nothing would surprise me....

Toulon, Leinster and now Toulouse done by these rulings. These clubs have 12 stars between them. If the ERC keep pissing off the elite European Clubs, this is only going to go one way.

Le match entre Leicester et l’UBB est aussi annulé. Cas de Covid dans les rangs girondins. Victoire 28-0 des Anglais
@RMCsport

Means if Harlequins get max points tonight, best Munster can do is 3rd.
