Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22
You would think that the only fair and logical thing to do is to have an open draw for the knockout games with home advantage to first out of hat.
But then again whats fairness got to do with anything

Leinster must appeal to CAS. Regardless of what IRFU representatives (if any) were involved in today's EPCR discussions and decisions, this is clearly an arbitrary decision by EPCR Board - with specific reference to the precedent created by the Wasps v Munster game proceeding despite Covid cases within 20 hours of kick-off.
Leinster must appeal or this nonsense will just continue.

They barely were able to field a team before but had the game cancelled because of concerns about Omicron and travel in our outbreak. The other games were postponed because of the same concerns about travel around the same external events.
We were able to bear French travel restrictions, others weren't. Why should we be treated worse?

As a result of our positive test this morning MontyP may feel playing this out for as long as possible could be wise.
Who knows by Friday ECPR could award them another 28-0 win and they'd be laughing

Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22
Farcical. We had a team that has a squad fully of consistently negative tests. Not sure what more a club could do. Given the Wasps game before it and the postponements that followed you've got to wonder as to the legalities. From a purely fair play perspective it's ridiculous.Blueberry wrote: ↑January 11th, 2022, 8:10 pmAgreed - just making it up as they go along. Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22
Time to go for a straight knock out competition. Forget about the games already played.
Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22
The problem here is a simple one.
It's time to throw the toys (reasonableness and dignity) out of the pram and start screaming righteous indignation and outrage.
It's a fact that Montpellier put as much pressure on the EPCR to cancel our game (They're at it again and sure why not didn't it work the first time) and succeeded.
What did we do, nada, not even a smelly burp or fart.
Even on here we got reasoned argument as to why we wouldn't couldn't etc.
Leinster need to get their heads out of the sand on this one and take the blanks out of the gun.
Novak has played ducks and drakes with the Aussies but they're going to get him in the end.
At a guess a bit of local scratching around would have shown up something of interest in Montpelier.
If a stand isn't made then we're going to be treated as the poor relation every time there's a 50/50 call.
Time to get down and dirty even if it's too late.
EPCR need to see that if there is any funny business over the result at the weekend that there's going to be trouble.
Right now Leinster are seen as the line of least resistance..

Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22
I partially agree but Toulon very publicly did throw their toys out of the pram last year and it made no difference. The issue for the ERC is that if they keep ignoring big powerhouse European Clubs with stars on their shirts that's only going to go one way.Oldschool wrote: ↑January 12th, 2022, 10:57 am The problem here is a simple one.

Nope other than a recollection that there were comments made regarding Montpellier stating they weren't happy about us traveling and our COVID worthyness. I think PSA was mentioned in despatches.deco wrote: ↑January 12th, 2022, 12:53 pmHave you a link/source to back that up?Oldschool wrote: ↑January 12th, 2022, 10:57 am The problem here is a simple one.
