Interestingly, Midi Olympique named Balacoune, Ross Byrne, Kilcoyne and JVdF in their European team of the week from last weekend's games. A fairly broad-based selection with plenty of English guys included but I'm really surprised at Kilcoyne ahead of Beirne as a Munster candidate or ahead of Genge or Porter as a LHP. But then, the French watch different facets of forward play than I ever will.

I'd guess Ulster at home in current form should beat Clermont. Getting Toulouse in the round of 16 will be a nice present. Saying that; they were fairly poor v Wasps. Dupont was sorely missed. Maybe it mightn't be the worst in the world to get them in the next round.

Dupont was selected for France and is expected to be fit though so, maybe not the best time either?

We actually have a very good record against Toulouse in recent years. Bar that one loss away to them by a single point, which we should have won imo, we’ve pretty comprehensively beaten them by 18 points and 16 points at home. They’ve also lost Kolbe who was a huge source of danger. I’d fancy us against them over two legs.

Yep, I would too and we'd be pretty much guaranteed two tough games which we badly need.

Also, might be an opportunity to make some badly needed cash by bringing the second leg to the Aviva. Just a thought!

I would too; and I'd prefer to meet them in the 'round of 16' than later. I assume the higher seeded teams in the next round get to play the home leg second.

Looking like Toulouse v Cardiff will be called off with Cardiff getting the win.

Would leave Toulouse in 7th position most likely if Wasps don't beat Munster.

I reckon we'll be third and face Bordeaux in round of 16.

2 match points would put Wasps above Toulouse if the latter have to forfeit. Cardiff have a shot at making top 8 if they get the 28-0!

Looks like there is a god after all.
Leinster v Toulouse would be a very likely match but for the 28-0 loss to Montpellier.
Now it's likely that Racing and Toulouse will meet instead. IE one of the favourites is going to be knocked out.
Oh the irony, not what EPRC had in mind.
Pleasent dreams.

28-0 isn't enough for Cardiff to pass Toulouse. A Castres win might do it though. Toulouse will know whether they're through before they play.

Yup best Cardiff can do is 8th. If they did get the walkover:

7. Toulouse 4 7 -4 8
8. Cardiff 4 7 -33 13
9. Wasps 3 6 -13 5
10. Castres 3 3 -11 4
11. Stade 3 2 -38 2
12. Scarlets 3 2 -63 2

(Games played / points / Points Difference / Tries).

Newcastle v Toulon off due to Tyneside Covid cases. Anyone Dupont a Covid casualty for Toulouse who now have only one fit No 9. That match against Cardiff is in doubt. Fingers crossed we don't lose any more

Josh Brennan named on the bench for Toulouse, recently turned 20.

Have Toulouse named their team early to show they can field a 23?

If after their COVID trials this week and they still manage to pull a team together and if they're still allowed to rock up and play their match......... well I'm calling shenanigans!

Tis a pity that they're not playing up in Ulster this weekend so.
You know I'm going to lose,
And gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't want to live FOREVER!
