Harry at 10. With Frawley at 12 and Hawkshaw at 22?

I’m personally delighted to see just McCarthy and foley on the trip as 9, they need games and it won’t get more tougher than these matches. Pity is they won’t have a solid 10 like Ross there to guide them

I don’t think it does. Ryan did the warmup on Fri so must be close to returning, I’d say the choice is to not send him around the world and to trust that high intensity training with the first 15 will benefit him more.

Molony will start against Leicester for sure, Baird would be nice for bench impact alright.
He might, or they might start Ryan and Toner with Ross on the bench. Haven't seen confirmation anywhere that Joe McCarthy is injured. If he isn't, they held onto him here for some reason. Baird has injured his back, with absolutely no injury update for 4 weeks. Can't see him having any role after such a break

AFAIK, Lancaster, McBride and Leamy are all in Dublin focused on our forwards with Felipe worked with J10 and backline. I expect Porter, Kelleher & Big Mike back on Sunday immediately after Sharks game. That will effectively give them a full 14 day prep for Leicester game - very similar to 6N window between games. Flight departures for Paris or Amsterdam from Durban are normally scheduled between 9-11 pm on Saturday nights.

Of a 31 man squad I count 10 in the academy and 3 who were promoted early. That's a young squad

Toner hasn’t started in Europe for us this season. Ross has started
every game. So that would be a surprise if they parachute Dev into a QF.

In other positive news, second row James Ryan was involved in the extended match day squad against Connacht and is once again available for selection but has not travelled to South Africa and will continue to train back in Dublin.

Great to have him available for the Leicester match.

Excellent stuff. If we can get Porter/Kelleher/Mike/Frawley/Rhys back from SA unscathed then we should have an almost full deck for Leicester barring any training knocks.

Baird has three weeks to prove his fitness too, although doesn't sound like he's nearing a return.

No mention of Healy's fitness either.

Looked like he was taken off as a precaution, rather than anything to serious.

JG; I wonder will Larmour come straight in ahead of Jimmy O''B; and even in front of Frawley for the 23. Granted Frawley's on the SA tour but Larmour coming in 'cold' to a first start in a while at Welford Road would be a risk imo.

Who knows. In interview he said he was hoping to travel to SA

I just did that team based on who wasn't traveling and filled in the gaps with those who were.

No idea. I thought that he would be a cert to travel down to SA. He was announced as back in training three weeks ago: https://www.leinsterrugby.ie/injury-upd ... ark-clash/

Can’t see jimmy being dropped for the Leicester game. One of tigers big strengths is fords ability to peg teams back with his kicking abilities. Having 2 natural fullbacks in our back three would be ideal for this game, plus Larmour is a liability in a tactical kicking match

Ryan confirmed back fit and training.

Glad he didn’t travel to RSA but we need him to get some of his form back. Not the player he was 2 years ago and desperately need him firing for end of season.
