Reynal has plenty of previous on this.
Great recovery after that start, hats off.

I mean...you could maybe find excuses not to give a red, but it’s a yellow at the very least.

We need to cut out silly penalties and be more commanding in the air. Noticeable that Luke started to kick longer as the half went on, think that’s a good call.

I'm the first to shout and scream at bad refereeing but it was a yellow at most.
Anyone But New Zealand
Re: Champions Cup 1/4 Final: Exeter V Leinster
a yellow card at LEAST
Re: Champions Cup 1/4 Final: Exeter V Leinster
Really, really impressive 25 minutes there I must say. We've been sloppy in a lot of places, but there's a clear blueprint there for how to play.
Kick long, good line speed and make them try to play out.
They can only get out of their half through box kicking. If we can tighten up our aerial game it'll go a long way. I'd have DK on for Larmour, but that's not going to happen.
Backrow has been excellent, particularly Josh & Conan.
Luke has been very, very ropey.
I'd have Baird for Fardy at 50 also.

Have to say, Raynal has got two major decisions wrong. The second try should've been a Rhys pen and was forward from Hogg.
That last incident was at the very least a yellow.

Why do people turn straight to the pro 14 whenever a team has a bad spellLeinsterimp wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 5:44 pm Unfortunately we get ahead of ourselves playing in the poor Pro 14, could get ugly this

Refereeing has definitely eased off this past 2 weeks, but that is the type of shot you want rid of. He’s teed off on the hit. If it goes wrong, even slightly and non-deliberately, it’s on the tackler. Raynal wanted to keep Exeter in it.
Exeter at home, up for it, get a great start, force some Leinster errors in scoreable positions, steal at least 5 yards on every kick. And they are still 6 down.

Yes there mitigation. But it's a player dipping to protect himself from a king hit, not a rugby move.LeRouxIsPHat wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 6:25 pm I mean...you could maybe find excuses not to give a red, but it’s a yellow at the very least.
He's way too high, jumping into contact and with a swinging arm. You can argue about force, I thought there was plenty. But it was reckless and unnecessary force.
Re: Champions Cup 1/4 Final: Exeter V Leinster
Hell of a comeback and we had all the momentum at HT. I’d be worried about how much energy we burned getting here though
Raynal’s missed a couple of important calls, imo

Just checked the laws. Mitigation doesn’t apply for highly reckless acts of foul play...that’s a textbook case of it for me.
Re: Champions Cup 1/4 Final: Exeter V Leinster
Raynal is such a poor ref. He's also constantly in the way.
Thats all.
Thats all.
Dont Panic!
Re: Champions Cup 1/4 Final: Exeter V Leinster
So Raynal logic says swinging arm to the face is OK as long as you have made contact somewhere else first.
Re: Champions Cup 1/4 Final: Exeter V Leinster
Ah I don't think that's a reckless act of foul play though.LeRouxIsPHat wrote: ↑April 10th, 2021, 6:34 pm Just checked the laws. Mitigation doesn’t apply for highly reckless acts of foul play...that’s a textbook case of it for me.
I think he made the hit on shoulder and it slipped up, plus Ross did dip.
I said red originaly but it is probably yellow alright.
