Would be mad if the team that finished bottom of the league with no wins made the GRAND FINAL of this!
Probably a fitting way to end this tournament.

I wouldn't say it's probable. Possible certainly, but not probable. Zebre have been much more competitive this season, and last week's fixtue will carry over a fair bit of spite into this week.

Had they decided to have North and South play-offs, more than 75% ofthe remaining games would have a relevance. With this format, barring some very unlikely results this weekend, less than 15% of games after tomorrow will be relevant to outcome. A total disaster and totally the fault of Pro14 Board, not Covid 19

They’re at home to Connacht then away to Ospreys. They lost both of these fixtures earlier this season. Not convinced they’ll do it, but depends on how seriously the other teams take it.

7pts from their last two fixtures will guarantee their presence in the final.

I suspect Connacht will save the League’s blushes on this one

That would be what they call a quandary ;)

Bear in mind that Connacht stole that victory in Treviso at the death, Benetton were caught out due to pure naivety and were short a ton of players due to international duty. Connacht have progressed since then, but are of course woefully inconsistent. It'll be exciting one way or the other.

The main thing in their favour is that neither Connacht nor Ospreys have anything to play for in a competition that means nothing to them. They may field the kids, whereas Benetton are likely to go full strength for both games as they have control of the table.

Ospreys were decent towards the end of the Pro 14 season. I think they'll beat Benetton in Wales.

Lots of focus now on the Benetton position but there are still 6 teams interested:
1. Benetton 14 pts
2. Munster 10 pts
3. Glasgow 10 pts
4. Leinster 9 pts
5. Cardiff 9 pts
6. Connacht 9 pts

Dragons (6 pts) and Ospreys (5 pts) play today so one of them will also be in the shake-up and Dragons could actually grab 2nd place today with a BP win

Momentum can be a big factor and Benetton have it, they're going to be very hard to knock off that top spot.

This has turned into a cracking competition with some good rounds of rugby. It's also not a procession for once.

It has been demanding my interest, although the whatsapp groups are quiet.

Certainly hasn’t captured the public imagination. That said, most teams have fairly strong squads with not internationals on. Also, the carrot of a final against a Saffa team is quite appealing

Gonna be some ding-dong for points between Connacht, Benetton and the Ospreys.
