Greg McGrath and Jamie Osborne have been added to our European squad.
There are no limits on the squad size so I guess it's just a matter of adding the two players who are currently training with the squad who weren't there when the original squad was submitted.

Toulon side for Lyon tomorrow. I'd say it'll be fairly different next weekend with the French guys like Ollivon, Carbonel etc back.
Re: Leinster Vs Toulon 2021, Friday the 2nd of April, 5.30pm
Decent team, can't believe Wulf is still going strong in the top 14. But wow they are a long, long way from the galacticos team they had in 2013.

And someone said that Toulon fans thought Leinster are and aging team?!! Wulf & Parisse are 37, Nonu 38!

However, that pack is some size including Etcebeth and Parisse in the back row behind two enormous second-rows in Halagahu and Alaine'aeuse, both close to 2m and two serious Props in Fresia and Taofinfenua. We are going to need all our energy in the first half next week.

Some interesting choices to be made alright.
Based on tonight, I'd go with:
Healy, Kelleher, Furlong, Ryan, Fardy, Rhys, VDF, Conan, JGP, Sexton, Lowe, Henshaw, ROL, DK, Keenan
Dooley, Tracy, Porter, Dev, Baird, Luke, Ross, Larmour
Possibly a good argument to start Baird/Ryan too, but I think it may be a little light weight against a massive Toulon pack.
I think we'll look to move them around quite a bit and tire them out.

Halagahu is nowhere near 2m or enormous.Ruckedtobits wrote: ↑March 27th, 2021, 8:20 pm However, that pack is some size including Etcebeth and Parisse in the back row behind two enormous second-rows in Halagahu and Alaine'aeuse, both close to 2m and two serious Props in Fresia and Taofinfenua. Roman Taofifenua is, and will be back next weekend.

Maa Nonu just got a red card in Toulon v Lyon for an elbow to the face. Looks like he'll be out next weekend.

LO leading 21-9 at half-time. Two tries and playing smarter rugby.

Who cares how big they are when they are average? we'll be laughing if Eztebeth is playing at 6.Ruckedtobits wrote: ↑March 27th, 2021, 8:20 pm However, that pack is some size including Etcebeth and Parisse in the back row behind two enormous second-rows in Halagahu and Alaine'aeuse, both close to 2m and two serious Props in Fresia and Taofinfenua. 54-16 for Lyon with bonus point. Toulon looked a beaten team from half time. But we still have to front-up in forwards.

Flip side Lyon could give Exeter a real run for their money. We may have to go to France if we manage to overcome ToulonRuckedtobits wrote: ↑March 27th, 2021, 10:35 pm 54-16 for Lyon with bonus point. Toulon looked a beaten team from half time. But we still have to front-up in forwards.

A 6 day turnaround might rule out Sexton after staying off after a HIA, no? Ross Byrne was limping around too. Could be Harry Byrne and Frawley at 10 and 22.

Seemed to be a blood substitution rather than HIA. He stayed in the Stand.
Re: Leinster Vs Toulon 2021, Friday the 2nd of April, 5.30pm
Just watched highlights of Lyon Toulon. Not one to make sweeping assumptions after a 3 minute video package but Toulon look slow if you move them from the tight exchanges. Lyon could give Exeter a shock

I'd say that's exactly what we'll try to do. Avoid an arm wrestle, hold the ball, tire them out and then release the bench.
Their pack is potentially enormous. They could choose a backrow with Etzebeth, Ollivon and Parrise along with two monsters at second row.
But we've shown the blueprint for beating teams like that against Toulouse & Lyon.

Is Nonu banned for our game? His red card can be seen here around the 30 sec mark:
