Match Preview

After two wins on the road, Leinster are back at home for another (sigh) Monday night game as they host Edinburgh.

For most of last season Edinburgh were the best team in Conference B. They finished top of the table and looked to be heading for the final as they led Ulster 19-7 in the semi-final. Yet they threw the game away and it was Ulster who eventually lost to Leinster in the final.

Nice settled side again. That's a crazy good pack for a Pro14 game like this.

We clearly don't trust some of the younger academy backs as we've gone for a forward at 23 a lot over last few games.

Another big opp for Turner though.
I’d say a big reason for the forward at 23 was then not wanting to rely on DL to play 80 mins if somebody went down injured in the first minute of a game as he was being eased back, maybe the same thing here with Baird coming back.

Fardy & Toner starting at this level is overkill at this stage.. i'd have rested one and given Dunne a start.

I'd have given Sheehan another start too.

Picked up a knock against the Ospreys. Suspect he'll be back for the Cardiff match

5 x 2nd rows in the 23 (Fardy Toner Moloney Murphy Baird)

Or

5 x Blindsides if you prefer. (Fardy Murphy Baird Ruddock Leavy)

Interesting. One of the forwards might need to play in the backs. Where's Sean Cronin when you need him. :)

Baird has specifically been selected to cover the entire backline from 10-15 (cf. Zig & Zag - quality source).

Followed by a belter of a try!

Classy stuff from JOB.

Was that Leavy with the turnover too?

Yep it was Leavy with a great turnover.
Dave a bit happier this week scoring a try!

Some poor penalties given away, but defence has been decent enough so far.

Nice try for McGrath there. Ridiculous how out of steam the Edinburgh 5 was there. Could barely describe his chase as a light jog.

Hilarious moment there from Toner at the line out, pushing the ball into Penny’s face.

McGrath, on the other hand, looks like he's bored of scoring tries

Another facile game.

I'd empty our bench on 50 and at least get a few guys game time.

Our front row all having good games. Penny excellent too.

All too easy...
Some great scores...Frawleys flick pass sublime there

Defence looks so easy for us, apart from discipline we look so comfortable
JOB to push for Irish squad inclusion soon I reckon, has it all from viewing last 4/5 games...serious baller
