Does the newly minted Leinster membership status entitle us to money off at Lifestyle Sports (and has anyone heard anything about the membership since they paid - I haven't)?

I tend not to go into lifestyle if I can help it. They look at me like they need to call Greenpeace to help them push me back into the sea

Pretty nice I must say!

Very similar template to Munster & Crusaders with a different pattern.

No new training kit as far as I can see, but I assume that will be coming.

I think both the away and training jerseys are two years old so they'll be getting a change too.

I predict that the away jersey will be a hate crime and the training jersey will be lovely.

This new home jersey looks very nice indeed. Will it tempt me out of either my 2017-2018 or 18-19 European Jerseys? Remains to be seen, but it has a chance!

Thought we changed the away jersey last year to some purple monstrosity that replaced the camouflage one from the year previous.

Got the impression from the amount that LR seemed to be over representing it in clips that it wasn't selling particularly well.

Thought it was a bit odd Adidas used a similarly unpleasant colour for the NZ primeblue range.

It is an improvement on previous years, but overall its a very lazy effort.

Firstly:

I've never understood the colour disconnect between the Leinster Rugby logo and Leinster coat of arms.

vs.

See the continuity between the Munster Rugby logo and Munster coat of arms. Simples.

vs.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... y_logo.svg

Coat of arms incorporated properly, not that hard to accomplish.

Secondly:

After learning their lesson over star-gate from 2 years ago, when the stars misaligned.
This year, with the rush to release a jersey before the end of the previous season, do pray tell what happens if we were to win this year's Champions Cup? is there a re-release in November?

Finally

Did anyone else get the impression that there didn't look to be any pro-fit jerseys?
The press photos did not do the lads any favours...

Also, don't get me started on the large ugly navy cuffs, which look to be thrown in last minute as a larger advertising spot for Bank of Ireland than previous years' efforts.

P.S.
This will always be the standard bearer of what they should strive to achive.

There's a picture of Sene Naoupu in the article on the 42.ie about it and you can see the shorts. A two tone Leinster kit looks much better imo. It gives the impression of having more substance or something.

Shorts are the same colour as the bottom of the jersey - so the jersey will blend into the shorts similar to Man Utd (also Adidas) a couple of years ago

Looks nice but if the neckline and stick on crests and three stripe is anything like NZ Super Rugby it's a super cheap finish in the flesh. Real cost cutting ditching embroidered crests/kit logo for stickers

Nothing to do with cost cutting, embroidery costs next to nothing on an industrial scale and is actually the cheaper option, which is why you find it on the knock off jerseys instead of decals.

The problem with embroidery is that its quite limiting for high end sportswear. You can't do any kind of complex design in high definition, embroidery doesn't work on a lightweight base material - you need a minimum weight of cloth as a base, it breaks the base material's tear resistance, it chafes on a skintight jersey, and thread shrinks whereas the new extruded materials don't - so you get puckering after a number of washes.

Embroidery works well for simple designs on thick weaves like classic Polo Shirts or the old cotton jerseys - it's cheap, once you set up the embroidery disk it's reusable (as long as you don't lose the disk!), you can use the same thread as the base material uses so no puckering, and it doesn't depend on people following the washing instructions.
