I saw the schools lock you're talking about at the match yesterday. He's massive.

Apparently 6ft 9' and 120 kgs. And is young enough to go again on the u18s next year!! 😁

I'd well believe those being correct stats, interesting to hear he is u18 eligible again next year, would make him about 16.

highlights of the game can be found here, you certainly notice him when he when he is on the field: https://www.irishrugby.ie/2021/09/13/le ... ols-title/

shame they never posted highlights for the ulster game.

I saw Dev play schools rugby and it honestly felt like he was towering over the crowd whenever there was a lineout in front of the stand in Donnybrook. It took another ten years for him to fill out like that guy has!

Was wearing the number 19 jersey - Alan Spicer from Belvo, if I've added 2 and 2 together correctly.

Ah lads, I know! That's why I put the laughing icon. It was hugely obvious who you were on about.

We need a 'sarcasm' icon :D

I liked that they lifted him and he also lifted. Shows that he has a bit of athleticism. You can't ignore lads of that size. Did someone say he's eligible again next year? Holy F.

He jumped, he lifted, he mauled, he moved well ... for a guy that size, that young, he is an exceptional athlete. Guys like Charlie Ryan and Gavin Thornbury took [or are taking, in Ryan's case] a long time to grow into their height. This fella Spicer looks like he is already there. What a prospect!

There were two very good Spicer brothers, Paddy and Kevin out of Meath, who played in the row in the 90s for UCD/Trinity/Belvo. Kevin played the 1997 Varsity match for Oxford. Has to be a son of one of them.

Yeah, I thought of Kevin alright. I remember that he played a couple of seasons for London Irish at the start of the professional era [not sure whether that was before or after Oxford]. He was quite a big unit in his own right, so a family link seems more likely than not.

Interesting to see Fionn O'Hara not playing a position other than 10 for the development side, don't think there will be space for him as a 10 at leinster given Tector & Prendergast.

Kevin, who played originally for Clongowes, is his dad. The lad is 16/17 and has been training with Leinster schools all summer.
