Ross Molony(28)
James Ryan(26)
Jason Jenkins(26)
Ryan Baird(23)
Brian Deeny(22)
Joe McCarthy(21)
Is it confirmed Dev is retiring? I know it's likely, and he hasn't played many minutes lately, and that his contract is up.
No confirmation yet. Dev was looking for a two year deal before this season and [to the best of my knowledge] Leinster offered him a one year deal.

In terms of minutes, Ross is miles out in front of anybody, ahead of the next two put together.

Ross Molony - 888 mins
Ryan Baird - 442 mins
Dev Toner - 407mins
Joe McCarthy [A] - 240 mins
James Ryan - 217mins
Jack Dunne - 39 mins

Good reminder - it should have struck me that I was missing one given the minutes totals. Sorry Josh!

Where did you see that weight for Deeny? I'd be shocked if he ever got that big in his entire career, never mind going from 112kg to 120kg in one season.

in the most recent programme thats his listed weight, agreed i'd be shocked if that was his actual weight.

page 92, its actually 121kg, maybe that a misprint.

Also has big joe at 6'5, which looks correct when he stands next to Ross Molony.

We need to get him a full Irish cap sooner rather than later! His nickname should be Joe the Yank.

Joe McCarthy reminds me a little bit of Brad Thorn. No pressure Joe 😁

McCarthy is a serious prospect. Hard to believe he’s only 20. Very impressive so far.

Year 2 Academy to senior contract. Well done. Frees up space in the academy for a row.

Yep, Spicer looks a good prospect though, lots of potential.

MISSION (IM)POSSIBLE

RYAN BAIRD, YOUR MISSION, should you accept it, IS TO BECOME AS STRONG, ATHLETIC AND AS BIG AN ANNOYANCE AS MARO ITOJE, by the last match of the 2023 6 NATIONS tournament, six months before RWC 2023 in France.

JOE McCARTHY, YOUR MISSION, should you accept it, IS TO BECOME AS EFFECTIVE AS TAGDH BEIRNE IN LINEOURS, TURNOVERS AND OPEN-FIELD RUNNING, before the first match of the 2023 6 NATIONS tournament, nine months before the 2023 RWC in France.

IMO, both of these young men are capable of taking on these Missions and achieving them and thus presenting themselves as viable candidates for selection for the Irish Squad in 2023 RWC.

BTW, it is automatically assumed that you will continue and improve your development in all of the other aspects of second-row play, notably scrummaging and maul play.

Good luck in your endeavours.
