Technically you have to be in compliance for two years - the premiership salary cap is the average salary over the life of contracts to prevent clubs front loading payments to players in year 1 and a reduction in following yearsDave Cahill wrote:Thanks, the reason I asked is because if there were no cap, and no matter what happens they aren't playing European Rugby next season, I wouldn't put it past them to load the team with a bunch of megastars on massive three month contracts just to raise two fingers to everyone else by winning the Champions Cup.LeinsterLeader wrote:It would see the answer is 'No, there is no salary cap but effectively 'Yes' there is a salary cap as you have to show compliance with the cap to pass the minimum standards criteria and so be eligible for promotion.Dave Cahill wrote:Am I right in understanding that there is no salary cap in the Championship?
Reading around, I think the idea is to stop you giving them boat loads of case in the Championship season with the idea of amending it on Promotion to slip under the cap.

I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

This credit has now vanished from my visa a/c. Has this happened to anyone else?
Re: Leinster v Salarysins
Yes. I think it had shown as "unauthorised credit"bgmusic wrote:This credit has now vanished from my visa a/c. Has this happened to anyone else?
It will probably reappear when the banks open tomorrow.

Thanks John.
Re: Leinster v Salarysins
What sort of a Saracens team are we going to be looking at for this match?
15. Goode
14. Daly
13. Taylor
12. Barritt
11. Maitland
10. Farrell
9. Wigglesworth
8. Billy V
7. Wray
6. Clark
5. Kruis??
4. Itoje
3. Koch
2. George
1. Mako V
Something like that if they have everyone fit? Will they be able to add any of their new signings like Swinson and Davies to the European squad? Are the players are going on loan like Lozowski actually gone at this stage? When does Kruis actually leave? Are there anymore going?

Hard to know when gys are leaving. I think anyone going to France is moving by 1st July.
Goode & Kruis are both of to Japan, but not sure when.
Still a very formidable side but definitely weakened in terms of depth.

Skelton now gone and Itoje considering offer from Racing. Kruis in Japan for two years. Suddenly size isn't such an issue.wixfjord wrote:Hard to know when gys are leaving. I think anyone going to France is moving by 1st July.

Now with 500 people allowed to attend out door events will a handful of people be allowed in to watch?
.... and if they were how would ye pick the 500?

Make it a recognition for them rather than an unseemly scrum for tickets.

Re: Leinster v Salarysins
Itoje move to France was blocked by Premiership because he would have still been eligible for England in contravention of foreign player rules. His destination still hasn't been resolved AFAIK and the below article (which is dubious) suggests Mako and Owen F also moving...however earlier Guardian piece says they are all staying. They are not a settled squad at the moment.Ruckedtobits wrote:Skelton now gone and Itoje considering offer from Racing. Kruis in Japan for two years. The Top 14 club offered the England star a whopping £1m to join the club for a season on loan, but this was blocked, with clubs insisting it does not fit the “exceptional circumstances” clause which might theoretically allow a player to represent his country while based abroad.
However, Jones is reportedly ‘hopeful’ the deal can still be done as the pay row between Gallagher Premiership clubs and the RPA rages on.
It’ believed the ex-saracens boss (I'd forgotten Jones coached Sarries) is very involved with transfer discussions, with Jones also involved in the potential departures of Mako Vunipola and Owen Farrell.
The odds are good but the goods are odd.

Jesus, I could not imagine a home game without that flag. Even if the first matches are behind closed doors, that flag should be there. Sure without it, what would the TV camera's point at during stoppages?IanD wrote:Base it on Flag Size.LeinsterLeader wrote:Now with 500 people allowed to attend out door events will a handful of people be allowed in to watch?

I thought Wigglesworth was off to Sale as a player/coach? That said, I'm not up to speed on my premiership gossip since I stopped listening to the Rugby Pod. The thought of Andy Goode and Jim Hamilton without any actual matches to discuss was enough.OTT wrote:What sort of a Saracens team are we going to be looking at for this match?
