I'd be surprised, they've just decided for this game to go with Lowe.Oldschool wrote:LPG must be injured.mildlyinterested wrote:Cummiskey has Fardy on the bench.

Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
Fardy's impact off the bench I guess.
Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
Reeeallly surprised we haven't gone for Fardy for this. Was excellent off the bench last week and I thought Ruddock looked a bit slow and off the pace.
I'm a huge Ruddock fan, but he got caught out badly last year in the semi a few times, and I don't think he has the pace for a game like the Scarlets want to play.
However, he does hit rucks like a train and maybe the idea is to get him doing that for 50 minutes and then bring on Fardy.
Still though, Fardy has been one of our players of the season.
Happy with the choice of Conan at 8 though. While Jordi has been excellent, I think he deserves his shot after last week and his recent performances.

I thought Ruddock was fine but putting that aside you'd hope that he's sharper this week anyway after having that run out. That being the case I'm surprised that Fardy wouldn't start in the second row, I expected Dev or James Ryan to be benched. Maybe they just decided that neither of them looked tired and that Fardy was a great bench option again.

I'd go strongest 15 available and trust the bench. Fardy starts in that scenario.

Wow it’s hard today believe this will be the last time we see Isa in a Leinster jersey.
I don’t think coaches need to do a motivational speech, just let’s go out and do it for this man.
Can’t wait

might think they'll need Fardys energy off the bench for last 30 or so minutes.

Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
Also Fardy has been used to great effect against Scarlets in tackling Beirne at every opportunity, and taking him out at ruck time. Would be very surprising if he's not tasked with that job again tomorrow!
Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
Interesting call on Fardy....if true.
Perhaps a case of holding back a bit just in case.......Maybe they are concerned about 2nd Row too (Toner and Ryan have had a lot of miles....) and Fardy can slot in 2nd row or backrow so is the perfect super sub depending on who is tiring across the back 5. His impact off the bench v Munster was huge.
Having Sexton back is massive and Conan is coming into some form. Ruddock will be stronger after the Munster run out and Leavy is a huge addition and should be well rested.
Bring it on !!
One last hurrah lads !!

Further to previous posting as to how we're going to play this game, I think this is a brilliant selection. "You remember what it was like last time, well this time it'll be even harder".the spoofer wrote:I'd go strongest 15 available and trust the bench. Fardy starts in that scenario.
Imagine how Rhys is going to feel after the Season he's had. Fueled by pride, gym and rehab time, and the view from the Stand in Bilbao, somebody's gonna feel pain!
Tomorrow we can switch back and forth between the energy and emotion tanks and know that there's stacks of refill days ahead for both, just Go for IT Now.
As for Isa, there's just nothing left to say except
(at least one hour on both sides of the ball), we're gonna need it in the months aheadRelease his Best Exploits Loop

Rhys Ruddock has been one of our most reliable players in the last five years of silverwear drought. He always never gives less than everything. For that reason, I loved this from RTB:
"Imagine how Rhys is going to feel after the Season he's had. Fueled by pride, gym and rehab time, and the view from the Stand in Bilbao, somebody's gonna feel pain!"
Bring - it - on!!!!!!!

He can't have any complaints about not being in the Ireland squad but I'm sure that would motivate him as well.

Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
Would be a bit of a shock to see Fardy benched. One should surely play your best players always. However we have had some strange selection decisions before so it could be. Would not stop us winning as we are a far better team.
Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
Seems harsh on Ross Byrne
Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
Very harsh.joooooe wrote:Seems harsh on Ross Byrne
But Carbery's flexibility gets him bench spots, not necessarily starting 10 jerseys.
Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
With Carbery and ROL we have cover across the backline. Carbery for 10 and 15, ROL for both centre and wing slots. It's like Mads and Jackson for Ireland a few years back. When Sexton was fit Madigan was ahead due to versatility. When Sexton wasn't fit Jackson started ahead of Mads.joooooe wrote:Seems harsh on Ross Byrne
Re: Pro14 Final Leinster v Scarlets Sat 6PM Aviva Stadium
1/2P at 15 for Scarlets. Gotta say I'd be more worried if McNicholl was there. He will be dangerous on that wing though.
In the backline, this is a better Scarlets side than the semi. Hopefully Henshaw and MCF being out won't significantly weaken our ability to overpower them.
Barclay a big loss though. Their second row is fairly weak too.
And I'm sure Jack Conan will be interested in testing out Beirne at 8 from the back of a scrum...
