Indeed he has been very heavily touted as the successor to Farrell since the AI semi-final

Good read on Declan Darcy and his potential role in the setup.

Agreed. As someone who knows next to nothing about GAA I found it to be a great piece on a guy who will be a very important cog in the set-up.by wixfjord

Fascinating article and very informative for someone like me, who doesn't follow the GAA. Grma!wixfjord wrote: ↑September 11th, 2022, 12:58 pm Good read on Declan Darcy and his potential role in the setup.

Think most of these had already been announced or deduced but here's the confirmation from Leinster.

L'Equipe, previously covering this story, emphasised that their sources indicated that this is a 2023 'project' and probably post RWC2023. It remains to be seen how it would play out but Lancaster certainly wouldn't relish the front-line, media intense, role required of a Top 14 Head Coach - and the expectation that French is the 'lingua franca'.LeinsterLeader wrote: ↑September 19th, 2022, 5:13 pm https://www.rugbypass.com/news/stuart-l ... it-a-snag/

I don't think a bsc in statistics, a msc in climate change, or an MBA would qualify someone as a nutritionist.Dave Cahill wrote: ↑September 13th, 2022, 12:17 pm Is that Eoghan Hickey the Eoghan Hickey, former Leinster outhalf?
It's this guy.

Lancaster is going to leave eventually, certainly wouldnt be a surprise if he did now.
Would one european cup in his time at the province be an under achievement?

Huge change in the system over 12 months - No harm in some respects but a lot at once
And underachievement - macro yes frankly, when you look at it though not much would have had to be different for him to have 3 cups
Leinster jersey on the Great Wall of China. The Mongolians couldn't breach it but the Blues did!

With that squad, in an era when Saracens and Toulon had passed their peaks and/or been punished and when Toulouse were a diminished version of their halcyon days, an emphatic YES.mildlyinterested wrote: ↑September 19th, 2022, 7:11 pm Lancaster is going to leave eventually, certainly wouldnt be a surprise if he did now.

ROG was putting it about in his own helpful way in Quinta do Lago over the Summer, that he didn't rate Stu because he had only won one Champs Cup with "that squad of players". I don't agree with 'not rating him', but he has underachieved with the assets available, relative to the opposition at hand.

Nope. We've been one of the best teams in Europe throughout. Have dominated our own league and have played excellent rugby throughout.mildlyinterested wrote: ↑September 19th, 2022, 7:11 pm Would one european cup in his time at the province be an under achievement?
We have no right to expect HEC wins, just to be competitive, which we were.

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket
He’d be good to have back in the setup. Any mention of Rob Kearney getting into coaching? Think he’d have a lot to offer
Re: New contracts for coaching ticket
If you look at Lancaster's record turning around England and Leinster, then he's one of the greats. If you focus on what could have been except for losses at critical times then he underachieved.
In the same way if you look at what we won we the squad we had, it could be said that we should have had more. But he also played a big role in building that squad.
Some of those losses we got tactics wrong or didn't perform bit some just didn't go our way. And we had a lot of really bad luck with headwinds. We got Saracens coming back from Covid where it was the only big game of their entire season. We got drawn away to La Rochelle in the semi with a better record and had them in France for a final and we almost won it). We had to do it the hard way and we came up short, but never against a limited side. No one had it easy against us.
People will see him, how they want to see him. I'm grateful he came and would be happy if he stayed longer.

Would Bomber or even Leocaster be eligible for a legends T-Shirt?
