Thornbury, Aungier and Prendergast were excellent in Connacht pack. Gavin is really putting together a great series of games to push himself into the National limelight.

From Bristolbearsrugby.com
Bryan Byrne has extended his contract at Bristol Bears after a string of impressive displays for the club.
The 27-year-old has been a formidable presence in the Bears front row during the 2020/21 campaign, with seven tries to his name.
Director of Rugby Pat Lam said: “It was great to give Bryan an opportunity at Bristol following his time in Leinster. He has proven his ability week in, week out so we’re delighted to extend his contract.
“Bryan has fitted in perfectly into the team culture and he’s a big part of what we do here.”

Dan Kelly is starting again for Leicester. Seems very highly rated by the fans there.

Salanoa on For Munster... must be doubling his total game time with Munster tonight ...I wonder now does he realise that it was a seriously wrong decision to head south ??

I don't the success or otherwise of his move can be measured based on his first season at all.

It’s not like he got many games with us before the move. I think he came on three times and I don’t think he ever touched the ball as a Leinster player. Got a try tonight too.

I know he left on bad terms, going back on a verbal agreement to sign a contract, but look, wish him well, he’s just doing what he thinks is best for him.

Yep, I think it's a fair enough call from him.

Just a fleeting glimpse on BT highlights but great to see Oisin Heffernan get a run-out in European competition for Saints. Came on at 62 mins against Dragons and was seen celebrating the winning Saints try. Might get a bench spot next week against Ulster in Q/F.

Noticed in European action this weekend:
Kelly (centre) and McPhillips (10) for Leicester;
Stafford (9) and Herron (10) for Quins;
Heffernan (3) for Saints;
Byrne (2) for Bristol
Goppert (22) for Wasps;

Also in Pro D2 in France:

James Hart kicking points for Biarritz to keep them in 3rd place

Slightly tenuous connection with AJ MacGinty turning out for Sale.

Has Marty Moore trimmed down a bit? Thought he looked quite good for Ulster in their game tonight and even bagged himself a good try.
