No, I think he means our new boy Georges-Louis de Buffon. Good defence, great kicker, but a bit old I believe.

I do love those old school jerseys. They had proper collars back then!

If only George Hook would say Clermont will win. I'd feel a lot more confident. :(

I'm just not convinced that the Clermont players will be more dangerous away from home. No french team is more dangerous away from home. I can't see them turning up and being more potent then they were at home.

It'll be tough (massive understatement) but I just can't see us losing on Saturday.
The sport that unites Catholic, Protestant and dissenter has had its day of days. Pity anybody who can't enjoy it. Some day.

Right. We can be particulary weak away.

Ask any supporter of any French team. He will tell you how ridiculous l'ASM can be sometimes away.

However we can beat anyone anywhere too.

So i will enjoy to be In Dublin on Saturday, regardless of the result.

No illusion, but always hope.

I don't know why, but I have been growing in confidence all week.

I think it was the losing bonus point which deep deep down I was more hoping for than expecting and YES! I do always believe, but I have to admit I feared for Leinster more than I have in a long time ahead of the game in Auvergne.

I can't see us NOT winning, which in many ways is a bit crazy given the opposition, but I'm kind of hoping we can just bring that sort of manic crazed intensity we bring to massive games where the opposition can sometimes just become mesmorized as their moved from left to right and back again across the pitch.

I know we're missing some of our most potent attacking threats, and it will be interesting to see the team selection, but I just have this feeling we could really do a number on them this weekend. What a turn around it would be!!

All in all though, even just any kind of win and we're in with a great chance of getting out of the pool, if only as a runner up, we have a good chance. Exeter away will be very tough.

One other thing you have to know about French teams in general, and l'ASM in particular.

We are never as good as when we're the outsiders.

Last Sunday Leinster led us to believe before the game that they were the underdog and it put a lot of pressure on us. The team benefited a lot from leaders such as Rougerie and Bonnaire ; they showed the way while others were quite nervous. Next Saturday Leinster will clearly be expected to win. Your team was nicknamed the Northern All Blacks several times - it's time for us to remember how we usually deal with the All Blacks when everybody is expecting us to lose.

It's a fair point Tom. Clermont effectively have a free run at this game now. The pressure to retain the home winning streak and to win the "first leg" is gone and all bar a massive (4 try) defeat will still leave them in charge of the group. Now the lack of pressure could go both ways. They could be too relaxed against a Leinster team who will be extremely fired up or it could lead to them playing the rugby we know they're capable of.

I'm still confident Leinster will win but we can't discount Clermont putting in a big performance which would effectively win them the pool with two games spare.
