Rumours? Crick in the neck or a sore glut muscle were the suggested injuries. Neither of which are season ending conditions! Unless....?AdamK wrote:Lots of rumours floating around that Fitzy it out for the season..? Any truth in these?

Sorry, I don't know who ror is and for some reason I find the exclamation mark at the end of your sentence unnerving.sontaran man wrote:ror has confirmed beyond any doubt that Luke will not play again this year!

According to the Irish Times, Schmidt is hopeful that Luke Fitzgerald and Richart Strauss will be back for the Montpellier game.

Jaysus, I hope that's not true and that Schmidt is not just playing the game with that comment. Would be gutted for the guy if it is true.

Who is the source? The same one that swore gordon d'arcy was retiring for the insurance money when he had his arm injury perhaps?

Would be devastated for Luke if it was true. It'd be a serious blow to our HC aspirations too. Hard to believe we could go on and win it if we were missing himself, Bod and Shaggy from last years team. Now I'm not going to say that I definitely do or don't believe the rumour started on here but I will say that Leinster said Bod was in contention for a couple of games after the world cup and look how that turned out. As I said, I'm not writing Luke off yet but I just wouldn't take what Joe said as Gospel.
Speaking of Shaggy, any word on him? It's been a long time since I've ever anything and I'm getting worried.

Re: Luke Fitzgerald out for the season?
I saw him in Stephen's Green lunchtime Friday hanging out with what I hope was a niece or something (either that or in his downtime he's a child snatcher) and he was looking like he's shed the extra weight he was carrying during commentary sessions he was doing for RWC and after. Must be back on the treadmill at least.LeRouxIsPHat wrote:Speaking of Shaggy, any word on him? It's been a long time since I've ever anything and I'm getting worried.
Re: Luke Fitzgerald out for the season?
"Luke Fitzgerald (neck) and Richardt Strauss (nose), who missed the victory over Glasgow, are expected to be available for selection as might Kevin McLaughlin, who has not been involved since retiring at half-time during a win away to the Cardiff Blues a fortnight ago."

What's the craic with Dom Ryan? I remember he got injured in the RDS a while back, along with McLoughlin. When's he due back?
Any news on Shaggy either? He seems like the forgotten man. How we could use him in flying form, even though Dave Kearney has done well and it's good that Conway is getting game time also.
Lastly, any craic on BOD injury, are we hoping he'll be back for quarters or forget about it for the season?
If we had those few lads back by quarter final stages it would be a massive boost.

Ryan ame back after that and got hurt again. McL mentioned in the article above as a possibility for Saturday

Supposed to be running again. Personally hoping for March return no news.

Maybe the semis, but you never know with him, he's full of surprises, and he is said to be recovering well

Re: Luke Fitzgerald out for the season?
I am he...Yep luke will be out for a circa 4 month spell. If that is now or he misses the summer tour to NZ, my info is that he will be sidelined at some stage. Generally in these situations they tend to get dealth with quickly but it is possible that it could be left till April, althought my hunch tells me it will be sorted now so he is fit for NZ.
