Re: Anybody Going to Netherdale
Nearly as bad as Llanelli!sarah_lennon wrote:Nightmare to get to isn't it?
Strongly thinking about it.
I had to do an audit in Galashields a few years ago. The town is rugby mad, just like Llanelli - but I would say its much easier to get to than Llanelli. The best way to get there is to hire a car, its about 45 minute drive from Edinburgh. But the roads are not great. Im not sure about public transport - but Im sure there is a bus from Embra.

Re: Anybody Going to Netherdale
Can't fly there (without forking out a couple of hundred quid), train's about 90 quid return, and it will take me 10 hours to get home on the Saturday.combatlogo wrote:Nearly as bad as Llanelli!sarah_lennon wrote:Nightmare to get to isn't it?

Game's on tv. 15 min bus trip later am home.
Nope, not going!
Will look out for you on tv if you are though!

It will involve a fair bit of travel (not as bad a Llanelli) - via Newcastle it looks likeclaire_m wrote:Can't fly there (without forking out a couple of hundred quid), train's about 90 quid return, and it will take me 10 hours to get home on the Saturday.combatlogo wrote:Nearly as bad as Llanelli!sarah_lennon wrote:Nightmare to get to isn't it?

Not the easiest of places to get to, I grant you that.sarah_lennon wrote:It will involve a fair bit of travel (not as bad a Llanelli) - via Newcastle it looks likeclaire_m wrote:Can't fly there (without forking out a couple of hundred quid), train's about 90 quid return, and it will take me 10 hours to get home on the Saturday.combatlogo wrote: Nearly as bad as Llanelli!

I'm also hoping to be moving next week (I say that at the start of every week at the moment ) and would like to be present if I do. Also am out Weds, Thurs and Sat nights (social butterfly that I am ), so could do with a quiet-ish night on Friday. Next time. Maybe. But probably not!
Say hello to Chris Cusiter for me though!

Right,
Can do flights thru Newcastle for about €40 all in, only issue is a very early start on both days - leave Newcastle at 07:50 on the Sat morning so that would be painful
Car rental would be £50 - £12.50 if we've got 4.
Have two rooms reserved in a guesthouse 10mins walk from the ground, £30 a head.
All in, around €100 to support the lads in what is a die-hard rugby area, but one that is bloody hard to get to.
Have one likely candidate and two possibles - anyone else?

I've got a friend who went up recently, and she trained it from London. I would presume (but haven't checked) that you could easily get a train from Newcastle to Galashiels, and that there are more than 1 of those a day.sarah_lennon wrote:So Out Flights Friday Morning

The whole thing sounds like a nightmare! Better hope they win after all this!sarah_lennon wrote:Yep via Carlisle - approx 3 - 4 hours on the trainclaire_m wrote:

And if we were lunatics in Llanelli, I wonder what you'll be in Borders? Bonkers, perhaps?

We had around 12 in Llanelli and made a smuch noise as the home crowd. 4 of us could easily out-sing the Border's paltry attendance!!!claire_m wrote:The whole thing sounds like a nightmare!
