Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
So I take it a few of us are getting the Bristol flight with the silly layover time. My mates in work told me that Bristol is actually a nice spot, worth taking the time to go into town, having brekkie and a few pints etc., etc. Does anyone know Bristol well? Any good places to kill some time?
Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
I am on your flight,if you are into cricket,Gloucestershire are playing Glamorgan in a 4 day game starting today. Saturday is day 3,if the weather is good might be worth a visit.Ground is 2 miles north of the city. One could have lunch and a few pints, and taxi to airport.
Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
Bad news, day 1 called off due to rain. Play starts @ 11 am friday.
Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
Not a big cricket fan, but tis an option!
Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
Sorry Adam, we're on the same flights too but the daughter has exams starting on Wednesday so we'll probably end up just camping out in the executive lounge for the day to allow her to study - it costs £16 for the day and drinks and snacks are included!!!AdamK wrote:Not a big cricket fan, but tis an option!

Drinks included? Where's the small print...
Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
Drinks of the non alcohol variety me thinks.
Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
You're probably right - I'm one of those boring non drinkers so I didn't check to see if the drinks were of the alcoholic or non alcoholic varietyScrumdog wrote:Drinks of the non alcohol variety me thinks.

Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
Think I'm going to go into town for breakfast and do the sightseeing bus tour. That will kill a couple of hours. Travelling solo for this one and don't trust myself to be hitting the bar at 7.30 am without my wing man to look after me.
Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
Hahaha that's what I was thinking. There's three of us going, but we're probably as bad as each other.
Re: Bristol Layover for the Semi-Final
probably going to head into town as well, see a bit of Bristol. Don't think I can start that early
