and the answer from the Ed over on the Connacht MB is. . .

Post by sheepshagger »

Yes, it is on 6.30pm on Friday, September 28 unless there is intervention from the TV people (unlikely given that TV schedule has now
been announced)

Might go and reserve a Room in a hotel, should the time change yoiu can cancel the room (without charge)

Just looked. . .

Travelodge want EUR 99 for a room
IBIS want EUR 69 for a room
Days Inn want EUR 138 (twin) or EUR 99 (single) for a room

Not sure I can make it (it's over £130 for a single to Galway!), but I have booked the Best Western Flannery's Hotel on Friday 20th Oct (When I'm over to watch the Quins game) for a bargain €75.

And I think the bus from Galway to Dublin (single) cost me €12.60. I think it was about €16 return.

Stupid time and date for the game, but I had a feeling this might happen.

You'll get a B&B on the College Road (right beside the ground) for about €50 double, €40 single.

Getting up there might be more of a problem though.
Took the 2.00 train up last year but that might be cutting it fine if there's any delays on the train. Plus, it's generally full of skangers going up to Salthill for the weekend on the p**s.

Might have to take the day off and take the early morning train up

Fockit - travelodge booked.

It was dead handy last year for both town and the ground.

Book one of the dorm rooms (6 or 8 beds) in the Kinlay House youth hostel in Galway's Eyre Square, it's where all the craic is.

If you want posh, book the G hotel.

Best all round hotel in Galway is the Radisson - nice place and reasonable enough price.

Has anyone flown Aer Arran to Galway. . .they have a flight that would get me there in time for the game :? (since I can't get off work early) . . .how far is the airport to the ground and/or city centre ?

Just an idea at this stage. . EUR 50 one way (theres no tax as its an internal flight).

Never done it but AA saw it's less than 5 miles from airport to sportsground. I've a friend that is engaged to a Connacht player, and while she was doind her Phd in Trinity, she flew to Galway at weekends with them all the time.

I see they also have a special security channel at Dublin airport to allow you to get through faster :)
