Firhill

Post by bails »

Anyone travelling to the Glasgow Heineken Cup match know the easiest way to get to Firhill from Glasgow Central Station. I am travelling through Prestwick with Ryanair on the Sunday Morning.

The Glasgow Warriors website refers to buses to Firhill (no numbers mentioned), Underground and Walk (no departing subway station mentioned).

Is it easiest to get a taxi, - do taxis operate on Sundays ?

Yes...... Taxi from the city centre will be the easiest thing to do. About £2/3 each if you have a full cab.

If you click on the map under Maryhill Road, click on satellite and move it north slightly you will see Firhill Stadium in the top right hand corner.

Taxi if you want to go direct, or if you're in town get the underground from any station (Buchanan St or St Enoch are most central) and get off at either St Georges Cross or Kelvinbridge. Firhill is then about a 10-15min walk.

Buses aren't as direct or as handy so I'd avoid them (plus I don't know much about them!).

might want to ask the driver to come back for you when it is over, I have a memory of a long walk back to the city one night

There's two of us on the same flights as you Bails, so we can share a cab if you like.
