Why would Agen be so different?

Just pulling your leg - I thought the Ours Blanc in Toulouse was sh1te for the money I paid. A B&B here would knock 7 bells out of the place.Donny Brooke wrote: Well the IBIS in Toulouse was grand

Anyway, why doesn't everyone just fly straight to Toulouse and then get a train from there instead of getting flights to remote airports and then transferring a couple of times via train/bus etc.....
I know it might be a bit more expensive but surely it's handier.
...to the sound of a Sivivatu slap!

Toulouse are playing London Irish at home on Sunday.
Sounds like a plan, sheepshagger wrote:Think i'll stay in Toulouse on the Sunday nightLeopoldButters wrote:

I've already booked the IBIS for three nights in Agen, but they're normally flexible enough about changing bookings.
Just don't be expecting to go to a game as Toulouse play Llanelli on the SaturdayDonny Brooke wrote:Sounds like a plan, sheepshagger wrote:Think i'll stay in Toulouse on the Sunday nightLeopoldButters wrote:

Re: Accomodation in Agen
this seems to be the best of a bad lot in Agen. Did you have to ring them to get a twin room??Donny Brooke wrote:The Ibis is cheap as chips

Donny- it seems they have a 'Ibis 3 night special' on the weekend of the game. . 3 nights for EUR 99. . . .you can do what I did, go back to http://www.accorhotels.com - proceed to book another room for the 3 nights, it will show 2 options, one at the standard rate of EUR 126 the other with the Special EUR 99 deal'.Donny Brooke wrote:
What's this three night special thing?
I thought I was doing well paying €126.
Book one of 99 Euro deals then go and cancel (on the website) your first booking (at no charge).
Not showing AFFleuence but 27 euro is 27 euro (your saving)
As with all IBIS Hotels, if you want two beds in the room - ring after you have booked online. . if you don't it will be a Double.

Get the TGV straight from Agen to Carcassonne first thing on the Monday morning (the flights not until 1pm, the journey is only 2 hours away so we should have plenty of time)LeopoldButters wrote: How do u guys plan on makin it to the air port on time on monday if your staying for 3nights?
I purposely came back the Monday as trains on the Sunday will be infrequent. . . .Monday they will be back to a normal service.
Worst case, you end up just staying the 2 nights (and you dont realise this to your there) it works out at just 50 a night (still cheap). . its 42 a night if your booking at the standard rate anyway
If your reading this and havnt booked - the theives at Ryanair have still got the flights at EUR 132 return inc all taxes and charges

Yeah, you always have to ring ahead with Ibis to get the twin room.LeopoldButters wrote:this seems to be the best of a bad lot in Agen. Did you have to ring them to get a twin room??Donny Brooke wrote:The Ibis is cheap as chips

Here's the number in case you don't have it: 0033 5 53474343
But follow Sheepshagger's instructions and get the €99 option.
No point in paying more than you have to.
We're staying in this place:
http://www.chateau-des-jacobins.com/swfEng/index.htm
Very reasonable rates
€98 for a double
€ 110 for a room with two little beds and
€120 for a room with two large beds
The couple travelling are quite perturbed by the fact that the size of their bed is not specified.

All us peasants squatting up in the Ibis while Miss Tara and her entourage take the air at the Chateau Des Jacobins!!!
The site is hilarious by the way
Apparantly you're in an "island of greenery where you'll be accompanied by the birds singing"
It also lists it's services as "Doctor, private clinic, police force and religious offices"
Just what sort of weekend are you planning Tara????
... and especially for la de da Miss Tara they have "legal mentions" - whatever they areDonny Brooke wrote:Well la-de-da Miss Tara, very swanky indeed!Tara wrote:We're staying in this place:
