Given what happened with the Heineken Cup they'd be better placed than most to know about that particular folly.

They'd be delighted with a break away league in that case! Saved them a fortune

Alan McLoughlin has passed away aged 54, very sad, gave us one of the great memories in the history of Irish football

We don't seem to have had a surge in hospitalisations or deaths arising out of all the partying/anti-social socialising in Dublin in recent weeks. Its it fair to say that cancelling the Dublin leg of the Euros was a mistake?

Did anyone see the brain doner on Prime Time last night? They were doing a set of vox pops about England in the Euros final, when our hero replies "Thats a foreign sport, I don't watch that".

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014
England A 8 - 14 Ireland A, 25th Jan 2014

Ah now, they've improved greatly under Pauw. Brilliantly taken goal to take us to our first WWC.
Next summer is gonna be mad!

I'll be watching one of two soccer world cups coming up. And it won't be the one in Qatar.

The FAI should have media trained them. Male soccer and rugby professionals are trained on media interaction early on, singing that song was stupid (particularly given their main sponsor is a British company) but posting it was off the charts. They know they messed up and I'll bet they don't hold IRA sentiments - Chloe Mustaki who was wheeled out to apologise went to St Andrew's, which wouldn't be known for extremist republican viewpoints!

That being said, this will make for an interesting conversation when it comes to renewal sponsorship with SKY!

When will the Premiership implode under the weight of debt - mostly related to player earnings?

This is already a brilliant World Cup, could end up being one of the best ever.
The YouTube vids from Australia of tens of thousands on the street in the middle of the night are just the start. The triumphs and the tragedies will continue nearly every night until the end.
Then we'll have 6 shopping days left until Santa.

Lotta penalties in this soccer world cup. Has anyone else noticed that a lot of players just blast them down the middle? The keepers always seem to jump out of the way

I guess they really are soft after all
