Re: What team would you pick for Italy?
In fairness, there is no real chance that experimentation will happen. We have to win every match in the 6N. And that's the way it should be. Bit of messing against Scotland nearly cost us last year. I would like to see Bowe start at 13 sometime soon though. And in that spirit I also think Court is ...

Re: Who would you pick, SOB or Jennings.
O'Brien is the player in posession and form. Shame for Jennings as he had been fantastic, but the snow cancellation hit his chances badly.
He was off the pace last week, and as has been pointed out, his head wasn't right. Particularly for a backrower with nous.

Re: What team would you pick for Italy?
Would you give Earls a go at centre? Jennings and/or SOB in the backrow? Would you give Court a lash at tighthead? Shaggy another go on the wing? Who would have you have as your halfback pairing? Would you mix up the second row a wee bit? Would you risk Besty? I would like to see some experimentati...

Well done the Canucks.
Seriously. I hope you get good crwods in for the next matches (and the horrorshow weather holds off for it).

LI aren't winning it on the ground. Ref isn't standing for shenannigans.ceemec wrote:I went for something to eat for 15mins.
What the hell has happened?!
Priestland running and kicking well.
One of the bounces had to go their way sometime.
A prop did a Shane Horgan pass for the third try by Scarlets.

Re: Scarlets vs LI
Ref having a bit of difficulty policing LI on offside: he's telling them to hold back, and they aren't...
I think it's quite a good thing that he seems to have difficulty understanding the players.
Two great kicks from Evans

Re: Scarlets vs LI
Bit jammy that try. Can't see Scarlets getting back.
And talking of bad kicking - Priestland again.
And I wrote that before he missed another penalty.

And yet it's all scarlets while a man down. Pity about the kicking from Priestland (though he just got that one) for 10-15.

Re: Leinster v's Brive - Match Thread
Sorry, you're making false claims.... A thumping from ASM (52-10) of a similar lineup as last nights & a loss to Toulon (19-10) who they would have expected to beat. While using all of their 1st choice players they beat a diminished USAP (29-9) & commited a hold-up against Toulouse (27-21)....

Re: Leinster v's Brive - Match Thread
I've heard it said that Brive are a worse side than italian nice comfy wooly jumpers you know. I mean, obviously it's not true of course, but I have heard it said. I remember Castres were the worst team in the world last year too. Whereas Montauban were giants of the game. Giants. Obviously even com...

Re: The Royal Navy
As I said, with regard to the use of the Irish ports, gassing was never discussed by the british, I've taken a look through the Cabinet Papers from 1937 to 1945 at nationalarchives.gov.uk and can find no reference to it, do you have the catalogue number? Btw, the report of the british ambassador on...

Re: Leinster v's Brive - Match Thread
I'd have O'Brien back for next week after that. I admire Jenno hugely, but he wasn't quite there tonight. Our lineout was a bit of a worry. Scrum was great - until our world cup winning South African prop came on. BOD didn't look at the races, and yet he managed to score the crucial bonus point try....

Re: The Royal Navy
Not sure you've read what was written. Churchill, at no time, ever considered using gas on ireland 'if we didnt let him use our ports'. Never. That an examination of using gas on enemy territory at his back door as Ireland would have been post a successful german invasion, in your posited situation...
