Re: European interest in soccer poll
It's hard to extrapolate. The situation is different in Ireland because we've been exporting our players and our interest in soccer. Rugby has combined success on the international stage with, at the same time, being international competition that we can go and see, that we can feel connected to. W...

Re: Isa Nacewa Appreciation Thread
Is it true that he played on and attempted a try saving tackle with a broken arm against the Ospreys last season?

Re: Croke Park to remain open
It makes sense for them to leave the option open to the IRFU and FAI but I can't see it being taken up. One thing about the infamous rule 42 confuses me though. There was 2 boxing matches held there in the 1972 (one featuring Mohammed Ali) and also 2 American football games in the 90s. What was the...

Re: RDS MC
Those kids were better at pronouncing the player's names than he is. The most embarrasing was when he attempted Tendai Mtawawira last November. He also announced "Substitution for West Germany" during a soccer match at Croker in 2007!

If Ulster finish ahead of Connacht in the Magners and Connacht win the Challenge Cup would that mean all 4 provinces in the Heineken?

Re: Interview with Heaslip in Midi Olympique
In Ireland people are naturally suspicious of sportsmen who actually have a bit of personality! Eddie shouldn't have let it cloud his judgement.

Re: Who are people backing for the masters?
Els is the man in the form but his record in recent years at the Masters is pretty poor. I have Mickelson each way at 14/1. He's always plays well at Augusta. Correct Dipper, Mickelson has a good record at Augusta but I take you have not been watching him thus far this season? He is playing awful G...

Re: Connacht match
How are Connacht bottom of the league? They always seem to produce the goods against Leinster. Fionn Carr always looks dangerous with the ball. Don't know how Keatley missed that 2nd attempt at a drop goal! He was right in front. Sweet strike by Sexton for the drop goal after Reddan's hair-brained e...

Harinordoquy was the best player. I think the Guinness facebook site got the support for Tommy. He was the best winger in the championship but Harinordoquy was definitely the best player.

I think it's a perfect game for him to get his confidence back with the boot. Thomond Park the following week would not be.
