Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb

Assume there’ll be a squad update tomorrow ahead of the Cardiff match. Some comments from the Saracens forum: "They said the attendance was 7900 but that must include say circa 2000 season ticket holders who weren’t there! Given the relative strengths of the two sides I suspect that Leinster g...

Also the French had a water carrier on the pitch. Surely not allowed during play.
The French are being accused of blatant cheating on other places. They've certainly rode their luck this year.

Re: 6 Nations 2024

What’s seldom is wonderful. If Ireland played a 6Ns international in- say Galway, I’d bet there’d be a good atmosphere there. Not sure that's true looking at the atmosphere in cork for their various events. I said Galway, who like Lille never get an international. In any case the atmosphere in Musg...

Great atmosphere in Lille. Kind of puts into perspective how dreadful it has been in the Aviva so far this year. What’s seldom is wonderful. France have broken the record for the amount of side entries unpenalised.

I think that's generous tbh, the ref has been incredibly kind to them and they are still only 7 points up. Italy are fronting up here, which is great to see.

We also have to be grateful that we got government grants, not loans, to keep things ticking over during Covid. We can generate revenue without having to dilute the sporting ethos of the governing body unlike, say, the WRU who have to, by necessity it seems, put revenue generation before developing...

Ah ffs, they're playing Zombie again. I absolutely loved it at the world cup and they've completely ruined it now.

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb

Why does a simple live stream in this day and age have to make money? There are tons of amateur leagues live streamed every week to tiny audiences. Mainly because broadcast or streaming of a game is considered bad for attendance. I'm guessing Saracens have sold about 6k tickets to this thing (looki...

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb

That game against Chile has 50k views now on YouTube, there's clearly an audience there. How many of the 50k viewed it live? How many viewed the whole match? How many just skipped along to the next score? The ultimate question is how many of that 50k would pay to watch it. I might have a look, but ...

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb

Two things on this, I’m almost sure that the last style of friendly like this was where we played chile before the World Cup in a warmup for them. We hosted however chile streamed the match and had over 5k in viewers which was played midweek in the afternoon if I’m not mistaken. Leinster are very f...

That is absolutely no excuse, there are tons of games being streamed to a couple of hundred people every week, across a wide array of sports.

Quinny calling for Penny and Deegan to move elsewhere because they're not starting European games (unless we've injuries). We may not like it, but it's hard to disagree for someone like Deegan at least. Hello. Where would they move that would be better than what they have? Deegan has 8 caps this se...

I like Ross; I admire Ross, but there more than the bang of the transition from Salieri to Mozart in the arrival of Sam in this match. I accept that it’s Ross’s first match back, but Sam has been wonderful in his cameo to counter Ross’s more prosaic efforts. It's a completely different game when Sa...
