Re: Rumour Mill
wouldn't it be great to get this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xHWBX2y7RQ Completely smoking it though; never a chance of course - but for those who never seen him just look at the step (and hop), passing skill, and pace. Rather have someone like that than a US sprinter.

Re: Tour de France
I'm already cringing about the sympathy he'll get from Oprah and the audience. Wonder will he say he was pressured into it or go down the route that he was frustrated with his progress after recovering from cancer? Reading that 7 Deadly Sins book, the control he had over the media and of people who...

Re: Tour de France
I'm reading the David Walsh book too (it's called 7 Deadly Sins but is it the same book? I asked my Dad to get me From Lance to Landis but the guy in Easons told him that the other book was the only David Walsh one they had) and it's brilliant. Just about half way through and really enjoying it. I ...

Re: Leinster v. Scarlets
Farces; unfortunately is the worst of the two unfortunately. (IMO) . Anyway as someone mentioned if he's whistle happy and we're the beneficiary then kick for the corner or scrum depending on position is a route to go. To me it seems a lot of refs are not sin binning offenders within the red zone fo...

Re: Rumour Mill
They really are astonishing stats. Thanks for that Doc! +1. EOS really screwed up his legacy with RWC 2007 I'd say. Huge expectation; and we didn't deliver. All downhill after that. Prior to that though, when compared to the 90's (and now) I though we were in a better place. People tend to demean t...

Re: Rumour Mill
The Carlin Isles rumour is mad. Anything to substantiate it? Nothing that I've seen or heard. The squad were in Enfield at the beginning of the week preparing for the next ten days, it seems incredibly unlikely that they'd bring in a fringe prospect on trial when everybody is supposed to be focusin...

Re: Leinster v. Scarlets
Garces reffed the Leinster Munster game in Lansdowne the season before last. He was poor that day; very whistle happy around ruck and scrum time if memory serves. Not sure if he's improved since. But hey; he's a ref, the match needs a ref so lets move on

Re: My HCup 2013 forecast
My convoluted :D reason for wanting Racing to win (essential also deny Sarries the LBP) is to a. Peg Sarries back to a max 19 b. Keep Racing interested - if they're not they'll throw in the towel in Thomond and Munster should then defo rack up a 5. I'd still expect Munster to finish on min 19; but 2...

Re: My HCup 2013 forecast
Racing. if Racing win Sarries are on 14 or 15, then there will be a head to head with munster for the pool. (Embra will lose both games) Love to see Sarries finish on 19 points and Munster win the group. I'd agree. Want Racing to take Sarries out. Munster, bad and all as they were v Cardiff will be...

Re: Tour de France
Read it over 2 days lat week (the Secret Race); good - but if you really want some definitive books on this then "From Lance to Landis" - Dave Walsh, "Bad Blood" - Jeremy Whittle and finally "Rough Ride" - Paul Kimmage are all much better.

Re: Leinster v. Scarlets
I'd go with Johng 's selection but it pains me to say it has crossed my mind that a 678 of Locky Jenno and Seanie would do most damage to Scarlets. Jamie is just not delivering to the standards required or what he's capable of. The thing that Jamie still excels at is his link play. For me, that's t...

Re: Leinster vs Edinburgh
Leo's had one of his better games in recent times. Toner was pretty awful - his cameos at scrum-half were the stuff of nightmares. Amazed that Reddan looks set to get the full 80 as he's butchered a fair few chances. Very harsh on Toner. Overall he had a good game. Darce excellent. Delighted for Ca...

Re: Michael Bent
Offhand I can't recall whether Ross was injured in the first or second scrum, but I doubt he would have been on had we a tighthead on the bench past a few minutes into the match. Sorry, if you are a Kidder apologist: Ross is cr@p anyway and some paratrooper is better than Court. Let's try to humili...

Donal should look at the highlights (horror show). The scrum was being dismantled long before MR left the field.

Re: Leinster vs Edinburgh
Whatever amount of gametime the returnees get; it's still a huge ask for them as individuals to be at their best for the Scarlets in addition to knitting back in seamlessly in the team. I also think v Scarlets esp 'up front' (with pace and aggression) can deliver a significant part of the required 5...
