Sexton was/maybe still is briefly an Adidas ambassador so there's that too.

Re: Outhalf death match (Sexton power vacuum)

A bit off topic but found it interesting that he was icing his injury yesterday. All the talk of experts and coaching staff and not a single one of them has read that icing is harmful for injury and slows down the healing process. The guy who made up the RICE method denounced it as ineffective. Add...

Re: Adidas Deal 2018/2023

Why does the Scarlets Castore jersey actually seem to fit their players well where Leinster's is terrible?

Jimmy O'Brien shouldn't look like a lanky 17 year old in a jersey. Pretty disappointing to see such a lack of quality in even the jerseys the pros are supplied with.

Re: Scarlets - RDS - Sat 18th Nov 7.35 pm

I've been banging the Frawley at 10 drum for ages but there seems to be zero appetite for it in the corridors of power at Leinster. I really like Frawley but he hasn't shown much capacity to play games in succession at 10 or 12. Similar to Harry it's hard to place a lot of faith in a player you're ...

Re: Ulster 2023/24

Willem Alberts is 39.

The Lions seem to have a thing for squeezing one last season out of veteran players. I remember Alberts playing 6 with Matfield/Bakkies in the row in the time when NZ couldn't compete with SA at altitude.

Re: Scarlets - RDS - Sat 18th Nov 7.35 pm

There’s absolutely no reason to “write him off” and every reason to be optimistic. Harry’s still young, playing well and seems (touch wood) injury free at the moment. But most importantly his great skill set is being augmented by experience and the blend is showing results. I think the optimistic g...

Re: A New Era 2023/24 season and beyond: Scrumhalf

He sets a terrible example for hand-waving and flapping when he could actually dig it out himself. His decision-making on when to attempt to buy a penalty in comparison to digging it out and getting the ball out anyway left a lot to be desired for me.

i know.
I am aware of that. It is just when others refer to club or country or Lions stats that I felt the need to confirm the fact (or lack of).

Rugby League doesn't want to get into a pissing competition with Rugby Union. WIth the exception of the NRL the game is in serious difficulty everywhere and by the end of the Lions tour RA will be rolling in cash also Is any national union as financially viable as NRL currently is though? Now's your chance to show leadership David Humphreys! Well, he not in the job yet for a start. And don’t you think raising a row about a good, if not exceptional talent- going to south, might be a shade over the top, because some here think he be a better fit for us- or are just suffering a case of...

Re: Lions Tour to Australia 2025

I don't think any sport that has involved CVC is happy with how that worked out. Rugby needed the cash bail out during covid though their involvement in the English premiership and the income model that resulted might have killed the possibility of viability of professional club rugby in england (t...

They have an Irish scrumhalf that has gotten 9 caps this year (his first in professional rugby). Niall Armstrong.

How does he look?

Re: A whiff of Cordite

We lost Abdaladze to Georgia, Ulster lost Bradley Roberts to Wales. Previously we lost Teo who was about to make a Lions tour. I don't remember Munster fans standing with us then. Teo was reduced in estimation quite a bit by a) being around during MOC b) using his forearm too much to lead when rugb...

Re: A New Era 2023/24 season and beyond: Front Row

Is Daniel Brennan an option? Is Oli Jager? Both of them are IQ Are either of them at the level we need? Brennan has only played lh since 19/20 season. He would be a functional depth option but unless Porter is moving to th we have enough depth at lh (even with Healy retiring). Oli Jager is probably...
