Re: Scotland v. Ireland
It is a strange one picking a guy heading towards 30 who by all accounts is unwanted at Munster, never really wanted by Ireland and will (if the stories are true) be leaving the Irish provincial scene (which is why Madigan is not getting picked) at the end of the season. He is not a clutch player (...

Re: ECC QF - Blues Members
TM cannot deal with the demand of a presale of a few thousand people at most so are forcing us to use their 'best available' service :mullet 1: They seemed well capable of shifting two nights of Ed Sheeran in 5mins this morning. The choose your own seats option has in the past been available after a...

Re: Scotland v. Ireland
With all our options in the backrow they are actually the two demanding selction - and at the moment you have to pick both imo I think we are all agreed on that and the thread was going fine until a certain poster decided they wanted to stir it up (they usually wait till later in the am and a lot o...

Re: Scotland v. Ireland
Just remembered the last time Paddy started a 6N game in Edinburgh. I'm not worried about him, but can see that being mentioned a fair bit between now and Saturday. Although I always thought the criticism himself and Marshall got for that game was OTT. I will always remember that game for something...

Re: Scotland v. Ireland
If they were both at their best I don't think Henderson just walks in, as it is Ryan is playing the best rugby of his career and Henderson definitely is not. We have a pack full of carriers McGrath/Healy, Furlong, Stander, Heaslip, SOB/VDF. Another grunt man causing havoc at rucks like Ryan is exact...

Re: Scotland v. Ireland
Certainly not a gimme - seen some bookies have us as 1/3 - don't think it will be like that tbh - Scotland are definitely on the up and will be really looking to lay down a marker. That said I do think we are better, particularly in the pack. There is still a slight concern, that we won't be cuttin...

Re: European Rugby Champions Cup
Shame the home draw is not at home in RDS, Atmosphere will be lost in the Aviva and that will have an impact on the team. Terrible decision IMO The team tempo and mood in the build up and on the day will dictate atmosphere. Leicester quarter 2011, Clermont group match 2010 in very different weather...

Re: Castres Vs Leinster Fri 20th Jan 19:45 (Sky Sports)
A real stinker of a game. Tracy threw 2 really poor lineouts in promising positions and we lost the ball. From a sense perspective, both those balls should have gone to the front. The first one was Tracy's very first involvement. Keep it simple. The second was on their 5m. Why throw long? Insanity....

Re: How many NIQ's next season?
But Nagle is 5th/6th choice, which was my point at the start. Your point at the start was that he was a passenger. He is not. He started two of our biggest games so far this season and acquitted himself well . Johnny Hepworth was a passenger. The prop that we signed from Jersey and never played for...

No Duncan Casey option?

Okay well in that case I would go with Scannell at this point in time.

Re: Northampton Saints v Leinster BT Friday 7.45
Great to get the 5 points, get young guys European exposure and still be in a place where we know there is a much higher ceiling for this squad. The pack won us that match they were phenomenal. Special mention to Sean Cronin who I though was probably my mom. He carried like he carries, he hooked the...

I would say it is a tough pill for guys like Dillane and Aki who 'bought' into the Connacht future plan themselves only a few weeks ago.

The late Ian Burns who was his half back partner in that team (only know from folklore bit before my team) and he played for Leinster and Ireland also. EDIT: And really does tick the cricket box for you all as well  http://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/people/ian-burns-a-school-sports-star-...

Re: How can the back three be improved in the short/long ter
I think I just got called a nerd :) Personally I couldnt give a fupp which individual schools any Leinster players (or anyone at all really) went to but the more the better as it spreads the game and grows the fanbase To go back to the thread too I'd like Kelleher back in 2018 too (if he'd fit in) ...
