Re: There's been too much talk about the hard cases.
All human lives are of equal value. All human lives should have equal rights under the law. Except that elsewhere the law recognises that rights are not absolutely equal - that there are times when two rights conflict, that there is a hierarchy. Killing someone in self-defence does not come with th...

Re: There's been too much talk about the hard cases.
I'm a loving and devoted father of two young daughters, I also love my wife. If I had or do make her pregnant with number three we will have to go to England. No doctor should be forced to deny the healthcare which would preserve her life and allow her the enjoyment of it. I don't even think we (or...

Re: Ulster 2018-2019
I think the IRFU are going to make Munster and Ulster build more from within, supplemented by IQ players that may come through the exiles or cast offs from Leinster. I can see that players at Leinster academy level are going to be directed more towards the other 3 provinces with full pro contracts....

Re: Podcasts
Flats and Shanks is a weekly rugby podcast that seems to be all about what Flat's and shanks (two former players and current friends) did last week. At least that was the case with the single episode I almost listened to the end of. If you want a blow by blow account of their experiences getting the...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
Heard rumours that Tyler Bleyendaal might be retiring this summer due to injury. Shame if true. It didn't sound good him having to have another operation. Munster have been having a particularly bad time at outhalf with Johnny Holland also having to retire very prematurely. Bill Johnston who's only...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
The fact that a pro14 qf can't get 11k in limerick may prove them right. Bad state of affairs when looked at against the bigger picture Taking into account the relative populations of Limerick and Dublin, may I suppose that you'd consider anything less than 150,000 at a Leinster qf a jolly poor sho...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
Unfortunately you will always get a number of a** holes when you have a large number following a team who will turn their disappointment of a terrible result into a personal attack on individual players. All players are human and as such sometimes have cr@p games but no player goes out to play bad....

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
There's page after page after page on Munsterfans where about 70% are laying the blame squarely on his shoulders. Picking one quote doesn't tell you anything. One person on there even said, "Keatley isn't even AIL level" and that he should be cut entirely. There is quite a lot of debate o...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
I don't mean to say that Keatley is a cr@p OH.
I respect him, he works hard and has made the
best of his abilities and is a decent Pro14 OH.
I just think we need a level higher if we are to win the EC.
I am going to leave it there.

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
If Keatley is considered not good enough to win a CC final, then by the same metrics, neither are the likes of Kilcoyne, Archer, Holland, O Donoghue, Arnold, and Wotton. Some positions are more critical than others. No team wins the EC with a cr@p OH no more than no team wins the premier league wit...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
Yeah, by the same logic an outhalf will not miss touch from a penalty if the pack doesn't mess up the lineout when he does.... So actually any of Keatley's flaws on Sunday were really the pack's fault because they totally did mess up critical lineouts. I'm not basing my criticisms of Keatley on jus...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
The trouble with Keatley is that there is no consistency, but unsurprisingly he plays a lot better behind a pack that is performing. That is why remarks that blame Keatley for the semi-final loss or suggesting that nothing will ever be won with Keatley at outhalf are so unfair to him. It's a synerg...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
I think they should worry about winning a semi first tbh. Six lost semis in a row now, it is (3 with O'Gara, 3 with Keatley). I think looking at Keatley and talking about aspiring to win the thing is missing the point a bit. They need to take baby steps, win a semi first. But anyway, the point is t...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
Their silence on the failings of Hanrahan is matched only by their outpourings of delight when his return from his less than stellar spell with Northampton was announced. I'd say that all happened in your head but if you actually did experience these outpourings I'd attribute them to the prospect o...

Re: Munster 2017 -2018
The tendency of some Munster supporters, perhaps a small number on MFs, (though I remember Keatley being roundly booed by the ‘brave and faithful’ in the autumn of 2016 at Thomond Park before Anthony Foley’s tragic demise reminded them that there are more important things than rugby), to hold Keatl...
