Re: Ireland Squad for AIs Announced
Overall the squad is fine because most people left out wouldn't have been involved much anyway but Caldwell is one who should definitely have been in it imo.The Duffy thing just baffles me.

Re: Ireland Squad for AIs Announced
On the left is who I'd pick for Australia and then Fiji is on the right. 1.Healy/Horan 2.Flannery/Cronin 3.Hayes/Ross 4.Cullen/DOC 5.POC/Toner 6.Ferris/Best 7.Wallace/SOB 8.Heaslip/Henry 9.Reddan/TOL 10.Sexton/ROG 11.Fitzgerald/Trimble 12.Wallace/D'arcy 13.BOD/Cave 14.Bowe/Shaggy 15.Kearney/Earls Th...

Re: Shaun Beirne at 10
Agree that McFadden should try his hand at ten. I wouldn't like it to be at McKinley's expense with the A team but he's with Old Belvo now isn't he so maybe some AIL games there would be a good idea. Have to say I don't see a negative by playing McKinley at ten when Sextons not available and particu...

Re: Playoff Draw
Simple solution would be for the FAI to offer them about a thousand tickets for the game in Croker. They will stop playing silly buggers quickly enough. Having said that Sepp Blatter and his lapdog Platini will probably just throw us out of the competition The minimum you've to give is 10%. Btw Tra...

Re: Irish Squad for Autumn Internationals
Donny, I wouldn't say that he's just as much a back up as SOB. There's no guarantee Pollock (who I'm also a huge fan of) will take his place when he comes back whereas we know Jennings will start if fit and available. Faloon isn't exactly a flash in the pan either,he's been on the map for a couple ...

Yeah what's he suddenly done wrong? I'm not hugely excited about this game now given who's been left out.Armchair wrote:I thought McFadden might get on the bench, Girv on the wing??

Re: Ulster v Leinster
Wallace blow for Ulster By Niall Crozier Thursday, 22 October 2009 If Ulster are to end their embarrassingly long run of not having beaten Leinster, they will have to do so without their captain, Paddy Wallace. As per the programme regarding the individual work plans of Irish international players,...

Re: Irish Squad for Autumn Internationals
I would have had Jennings as a candidate for captain against Fiji but now I'd like to see Falloon get a shot (not as captain).I like him a lot and think the Ulster players should be rewarded for their recent form.I'd be tempted to play Trimble for the same reason although his return to form hasn't ...

Re: Ireland u20s training squad
strange that theres no sign of jordi murphy, somewhat understandable given o hara, dominic ryan and ruddock were all there last yr. Still annoying tho, would have have liked to have seen him included... He's still very young though isn't he? As in he would still be eligible for senior cup this year...

Re: Independent / Herald on Leinster Supporters
Does IOD actually like anything in the world? What a miserable sod. Those "loike" style jokes aren't funny (apart from in the Ross O'Carroll Kelly books) and are hardly at the cutting edge of comedy right now.

Re: Munster thread 2009/10
In what way? Less skills and more rucking/mauling kinda thing? Basically yes. They've realised they've to win the ball, before they can play with it. Thanks, hope it works out for them and that they get back to the kind of performace they showed against the Ospreys in the QF.I'm obviously a Leinster...

Re: Munster thread 2009/10
Key may not be the players, who we know have plenty of ability. The new style imposed worked up to a point (enough to ensure the ML) but has seemed to unravel a bit. I am not saying its bad or wrong, its great when it works but if teams can break some of the systems down everthing goes out the wind...

Re: Sky Sports Highlights Show
I just think any half-decent journalist could pull it all together from web reports and so on, there's a load of sources available. I doubt his disapproval of the programme is because of that, but who knows, maybe you're right. Yeah but is it not better to report on matches you've actually seen rat...

Re: Irish Squad for Autumn Internationals
Horan apparently out for 3 to 4 weeks, can't see how he can start against Aus if that's true. I'm pretty sure Healy would have gotten the nod anyway. Can't be ignored. Did Ross play for you lads at the weekend? Yeah, he did and played very well in my opinion. I really think he has to be included ah...

Re: Sky Sports Highlights Show
Hippo,it's because with the three hour show he could watch pretty extensive highlights of all the games and get a good idea of what happened as well as taking the panels opinions on board but now all he gets to see is the scores from the match (and in some cases not all of them) and there's nothing ...

Re: Sky Sports Highlights Show
And then at the end they have the 'headlines' to recap something you've only watched 5 minutes earlier. Rubbish. They've starting doing this at the end of the Rugby Club too. I mean we have attention spans, it's not like we're Americans!!! Well what if you missed when they show it at the sta...
